EDD Recomputation Nightmare: Updating for the 3rd Time, Need Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having to update my recomputation for the third time now. It's getting really frustrating. Has anyone else had to do this multiple times? Any tips on how to make sure it's done right this time? I'm worried about how this might affect my benefits.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I had to do mine twice last year. It's such a headache. When did you first file your claim? That might make a difference in how they handle it.

I filed about 6 months ago. Didn't think it would be this complicated 😩

6 months? That's rough. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes talking to a real person can help sort things out faster.

I've been trying to get through on the phone for weeks. It's impossible!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep.

I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me. Got through in about 2 hours instead of days of trying.

Is this even legal? Seems like it might be against some rules.

As far as I know, it's legit. They're just automating the hold process. But yeah, do your own research.

Here's what I've learned about recomputations after going through it twice: 1. Double-check all your income info before submitting. Any discrepancies can trigger another recomputation. 2. If you worked for multiple employers, make sure you have accurate info from all of them. 3. Keep all your pay stubs and W-2s handy. You might need to fax or upload them. 4. Be patient. Sometimes the system updates slowly, and it might look like you need another recomputation when it's just processing. 5. If you can, try to talk to a rep directly. They can sometimes spot issues that aren't clear in the online system. Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system is frustrating but you'll get through it.

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. I'll definitely double-check everything before submitting again.

Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of every interaction, including dates and names of reps you talk to. It's saved my butt more than once.

am i the only 1 who thinks this whole system is designed to make us give up? 🤔 like, why make it so complicated unless they WANT us to fail

Preach! 🙌 It's a total clown show. I've been saying this for months!

Nah, never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence. The system's just old and overloaded.

maybe ur right but it sure FEELS malicious when ur starving and cant get ur benefits 😤

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representative? I've heard sometimes they can help push things through faster.

Pro tip: if you're having trouble with recomputations, try filing for a formal appeal. Sometimes that gets you in front of a judge who can actually fix things.

How long does the appeal process usually take? I'm already waiting forever 😫

It can take a few weeks to a couple months, but in my experience, it's worth it for complicated cases.

lol welcome to the club buddy. ive been in this recomputation hell for like 5 months now. at this point im just lauging to keep from crying 😂😭

Guys, I think I figured out a hack. If you file your recomputation exactly at midnight on a Tuesday, it seems to go through faster. Worked for me and two of my friends. Worth a shot!

0 coins

Wait, seriously? That sounds like some video game cheat code stuff 😂

0 coins

I know it sounds crazy, but I swear it worked! Maybe less traffic on the system at that time? 🤷‍♂️

Anyone else notice that the recomputation issues got worse after that system "upgrade" last month? Feels like we're all beta testers for their buggy software 🙄
