Tips for SDI recertification process? Need advice ASAP
Hey everyone, I need to recertify my state disability claim and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips or advice on what I should have ready or what to expect when I call? I want to make sure I don't mess anything up.

I just went through this last month! Here's what helped me: • Gather all your docs beforehand - previous certifications, medical updates, etc. • Be super clear about why you're calling when you get someone on the line • Write down any questions you have so you don't forget • Ask about deadlines and if they need anything else from you Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

•Thank you so much! This is really helpful. Did they ask you for any specific medical documents? I'm worried I might not have everything they need.

•They mainly wanted an updated doctors note confirming my condition was still ongoing. But it might depend on your specific situation. Better to have too much info than not enough!

Pro tip: call first thing in the morning when they open. Way less wait time and the agents seem less frazzled.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

•It's legit! You choose the department you need, pay, and they start calling. When an agent picks up, your phone rings and you're connected. Saved me hours of hold time.

•$20 just to make a phone call? That's ridiculous, the system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I couldn't afford to sit on hold all day.

Hey OP, make sure you ask about any changes to the recertification process due to COVID. They've been updating policies and it might affect your case.

idk if this helps but I made a spreadsheet to keep track of all my disability stuff - dates, doc names, claim numbers, etc. Makes recertifying way less stressful.

•That's actually a great idea! Would you mind sharing a template or something? No worries if not!

Just a heads up, they've been really strict about deadlines lately. Make sure you submit everything on time or it could delay your benefits.

•Plot twist: it's actually a form of mind control to make us forget why we called in the first place 👽
