Need to correct my SDI claim - what to expect when I finally reach someone?

Hey everyone, I need to talk to someone about my disability claim. I think there might be something I need to correct, but I'm not really sure. Has anyone gone through this process before? What should I expect when I finally get through to someone?

Ugh, good luck getting through to anyone. I've been trying for weeks and it's like talking to a brick wall. 🤦‍♂️

Same here! Its like they dont want us to actually get our benefits. So frustrating!

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard thats the best time to get through

Yep, tried that. No luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point 🎰

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone pretty quickly. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take for them to actually connect you?

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready.

When you do get through, make sure you have all your paperwork ready. They'll probably ask for your claim number, dates of employment, and any medical documentation. Better to be over-prepared than scrambling for info while on the call.

I had to correct something on my claim last year. It was actually pretty straightforward once I got someone on the line. Just be clear about what you think needs to be fixed and they should be able to help you out.

That's reassuring to hear. Did they make the changes right away or did it take some time?

They made the changes during the call, but it took a couple weeks for everything to be processed and reflected in the system. Just be patient!

Pro tip: if you're not sure what needs to be corrected, ask them to go over your claim with you in detail. Sometimes they can spot issues you might have missed. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions if something doesn't make sense!

This! 💯 The more you understand about your claim, the better off you'll be.

Just a heads up, the disability office has been swamped lately due to all the covid-related claims. Be prepared for a potentially long wait time, even if you do get through. Bring a book or something to keep you occupied while on hold!

Or use that Claimyr thing someone mentioned above. Sounds like it could save a lot of headache.
