Need help with EDD reapplication process - when should I reapply?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to reapply for benefits but I'm not sure when I last did it. Can anyone help me figure out how often we need to reapply? I'm worried I might have missed a deadline or something.

Usually, you need to reapply every year when your benefit year ends. Have you checked your account online? It should show your last application date.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check my account. I've been so overwhelmed lately, I can't even remember when I last logged in 😅

Pro tip: set a reminder on your phone for next year. Saved me from missing my reapplication window!

Ugh, reapplying is such a pain. I swear they make it complicated on purpose to discourage people. Good luck, OP!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone to help with reapplying! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yep, totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The system is so broken that we have to pay just to talk to someone 😡

I get it, but think about how much time and stress it saves. For me, it was worth it to finally get my issues resolved.

Here's a detailed breakdown of the reapplication process: 1. Check your benefit year end date. It's usually 12 months from when you first applied. 2. You can reapply up to 2 weeks before your benefit year ends. 3. Gather all your employment info for the past 18 months. 4. Go to the official unemployment website and look for the 'File New Claim' option. 5. Fill out the application carefully. Double-check everything! 6. Submit and wait. It can take 2-3 weeks to process. 7. If approved, you'll need to certify for benefits every two weeks. Remember, rules might vary slightly depending on your state. Always check the official website for the most up-to-date info.

This is great info, but don't forget to mention that if you worked at all during your last benefit year, you might need to provide proof of earnings!

Nah, you're not alone. I've been saying this for years. We need serious reform.

Quick question: does anyone know if reapplying affects your weekly benefit amount? I'm worried it might go down if I reapply.

It can change based on your recent work history. If you earned less in the past year, it might go down. But it could also go up if you earned more!

Ah, that makes sense. Fingers crossed it doesn't decrease then. Thanks for the info!

PSA: Be super careful when reapplying! I made a tiny mistake on my form and it delayed my benefits for weeks. Triple check everything before you submit!
