EDD benefits on hold after recertification - need help getting recalculated and paid ASAP!

I'm so frustrated with the unemployment office. I recertified correctly but my benefits are still on hold. They told me to call back next week, which means I have to pay another $30 for the callback service. It feels like they're just giving me the runaround. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get my benefits recalculated and paid out faster?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD is a nightmare to deal with. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it difficult for us to get our money. Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

Contacting your rep is hit or miss. I tried that and got nowhere. 🤷‍♂️ Sometimes you just gotta keep calling and hope you get lucky with a helpful agent.

I second this! My state senator's office was actually super helpful. They have a dedicated EDD liaison who can escalate cases. Def worth a shot!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll give my rep a try. Fingers crossed it helps 🤞

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I'm skeptical. How do we know this isn't just some scam to get our money?

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and took a chance. It saved me hours of frustration. Just sharing what worked for me 🤷‍♀️

Can confirm, I used it too. Felt kinda weird paying to talk to a government agency, but it beats wasting an entire day on hold.

Have you tried faxing your recertification? Sometimes that gets processed faster than online or phone. Also, double check that you didn't accidentally trigger any flags in your certification answers. One wrong click can hold up everything.

This whole system is broken af. We're all out here struggling and they can't even get their sh*t together to process claims properly. It's a joke. 🤡

Preach! 🙌 It's like they forget we're real people with bills to pay. The stress is unreal.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for months: 1. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 2. Keep detailed records of every interaction. 3. Use the AskEDD feature on their website to submit questions - sometimes you get faster responses. 4. If you're really stuck, contact your state assembly member or senator. They can often help. 5. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important EDD emails end up there. 6. If you're told to wait, always ask for a specific timeframe and follow up. 7. Join Facebook groups for EDD claimants. They often have good tips and can alert you to system issues. Hang in there. It's a frustrating process, but keep at it. You'll get your benefits eventually.

This is gold 💯 Wish I had known all this when I first started dealing with EDD. Should be pinned tbh

Have u tried calling rite when they open? I had luck getting thru that way. Also, sometimes the hold music just stops but ur still connected so dont hang up!

This might sound crazy, but I got my issue resolved by tweeting at the EDD account. They actually responded and escalated my case. Worth a shot if you're desperate!

Social media FTW! 🏆 Public shaming works wonders sometimes lol

idk if this helps but I was in a similar situation last month. turns out there was a glitch in their system that was flagging a bunch of claims incorrectly. might be worth asking if theres any known issues going on rn
