SDI claim disappeared from EDD online system - What to do?
Has anyone else had their SDI claim disappear? I was checking my son's claim online and it's just gone. No explanation, no notification, nothing. It's like it never existed. I'm freaking out because he really needs that money. Anyone know what's going on or what we should do?

PSA: Make sure you're on the legit EDD website. There are a lot of scam sites out there trying to steal your info. Always double check the URL!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Don't panic. Sometimes claims disappear due to system glitches. 2. Document everything. Take screenshots if you can still see any info. 3. Call EDD immediately. Be persistent. Try different times of day. 4. If calling fails, send a secure message through your online account. 5. Consider contacting your local assembly member's office. They can often help. 6. Check if there are any pending forms or certifications you might have missed. 7. Keep certifying for benefits even if the claim isn't visible. Remember, the system is overloaded, but your claim should still be in their database. Stay calm and keep trying!

I tried Claimyr and while it did help me get through to EDD, the $20 price tag is a bit steep for some. It's a good tool if you really need to urgently speak with someone, but it would be better if EDD improved their accessibility. Also, make sure to explore all free options first, like reaching out through social media or contacting your local representatives.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

This is really concerning - I've been reading through all these comments and it seems like this is happening to a lot of people. @Ethan Clark, I'd suggest following @Mei Wong's advice about documenting everything and also checking what @Giovanni Colombo mentioned about ID verification through ID.me. Sometimes the system flags accounts for reverification without clear notification. Also, try calling first thing in the morning (8am sharp) - I've had better luck getting through then. Don't lose hope, your claim data should still be in their system even if it's not visible to you right now. Keep us updated on how it goes!

I'm so sorry this is happening to you and your son! This exact thing happened to my sister last month and it was incredibly stressful. What worked for her was calling the EDD technical support line (different from the regular claims line) at 1-800-300-5616. They were able to see that her claim was still in the system but had been flagged for some kind of review. It took about a week to get it restored, but she did get all her back payments. Also, if you haven't already, try logging out completely and clearing your browser cache before logging back in - sometimes it's just a display issue on their website. Hang in there, you're not alone in this!

•Thank you for sharing that technical support number! I've been trying the regular claims line with no luck. It's really helpful to know there's a separate tech support line - I'll definitely try calling them. And you're right about clearing the browser cache, that's such a simple thing that I totally overlooked. Really appreciate you taking the time to share what worked for your sister. It gives me hope that this can actually be resolved! 🙏

This is so frustrating and unfortunately way too common with the EDD system. I went through something similar a few months ago where my claim just vanished overnight. What helped me was creating a paper trail - I screenshot everything I could find (even old emails), wrote down exact dates and times of when I last saw the claim, and kept a detailed log of every attempt to contact them. Also, try calling the EDD at different times throughout the day - I found that calling around 2-3 PM sometimes had shorter wait times than the morning rush. Don't give up! The claim is likely still in their system somewhere, it's just a display/technical issue on their end. Wishing you and your son the best of luck getting this sorted out quickly! 💪

•This is really solid advice about creating a paper trail! I'm new to dealing with EDD issues and didn't realize how important documentation would be. The tip about trying different times of day is also super helpful - I was only calling in the mornings and getting nowhere. It's reassuring to hear from someone who went through the same thing and actually got it resolved. Did you end up getting all your back payments once the claim reappeared? Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this stress! The same thing happened to me about 6 weeks ago and I was absolutely panicking. Here's what I learned from my experience: First, don't panic - your claim data is almost certainly still in their system even though you can't see it. Second, try the EDD technical support line at 1-800-300-5616 (as mentioned by @Lena Schultz) - they're separate from regular claims and were much more helpful in my case. Third, clear your browser cache and try a different browser or device - sometimes it really is just a display glitch. Fourth, document everything with screenshots and keep calling at different times of day. I found early morning (right at 8am) and mid-afternoon (2-3pm) had better success rates. It took about 10 days total but my claim did reappear with all back payments intact. Stay strong and keep pushing - you've got this! 💪

•Thank you so much for sharing your experience and the detailed timeline! It's really reassuring to hear that your claim reappeared with all back payments after 10 days. I'm definitely going to try that technical support number - it sounds like they might actually be able to help instead of just telling me to wait. The tip about trying different browsers is smart too, I hadn't thought of that. It's so stressful when you're depending on these payments and they just vanish, but hearing success stories like yours gives me hope that this will get resolved. Really appreciate you taking the time to share what worked for you! 🙏

This is such a common and frustrating issue! I just want to add that if you're having trouble getting through on the phone lines that others have mentioned, you can also try sending a message through the "Contact EDD" feature in your online account (if you can still access it). Sometimes written messages get faster responses than phone calls. Also, check if there are any pending forms or documents they might be waiting for - sometimes claims disappear when there's missing paperwork that you might not have been notified about. I know it's stressful when you're counting on that money, but from what I've seen in this community, most people do get their claims restored eventually. Keep us posted on how it goes!

•That's a great point about using the "Contact EDD" messaging feature! I completely forgot that option exists. It's worth trying multiple channels - phone, online messaging, and even social media sometimes. The tip about checking for pending forms is really important too, because they don't always notify you clearly when something is missing. It's frustrating that we have to become experts in navigating their broken system just to get the help we're entitled to, but this community is so helpful for sharing these tips and strategies. Thanks for adding those suggestions!

I'd definitely recommend trying that technical support number that @Lena Schultz and @Yara Nassar mentioned (1-800-300-5616) - it sounds like they might actually be more helpful than the regular claims line. Also, the advice about documenting everything and trying different browsers/clearing cache seems really practical. I hope you're able to get through to someone soon and get this resolved quickly. Hey @Ethan Clark, I'm so sorry you and your son are going through this - it's such a stressful situation when you're depending on those payments! I'm relatively new to this community but have been reading through everyone's advice and there are some really solid suggestions here. Definitely try that technical support line at 1-800-300-5616 that several people mentioned - it sounds like they're separate from the regular claims department and might actually be able to help. Also, the advice about clearing your browser cache and trying a different browser is worth a shot since sometimes it's just a display issue. I'd also suggest taking screenshots of anything you can still access and keeping a detailed log of all your contact attempts like @Mei Wong recommended. From what I'm reading, most people do eventually get their claims restored with back payments, so try not to lose hope! The system is clearly broken but your son's claim data should still be in there somewhere. Keep pushing and don't give up - we're all rooting for you! 🙏

I'm new to this community but wanted to share something that might help - I just went through a similar situation where my claim disappeared for almost 2 weeks. What finally worked was calling that technical support line at 1-800-300-5616 that others have mentioned, but I had to call repeatedly at different times. I found that calling right at 8:00 AM had the best success rate. The rep I finally reached explained that claims can disappear from your view due to system maintenance, pending verifications, or even just server glitches, but the data is still there. In my case, it was a pending ID verification through ID.me that I never got notified about. Once I completed that, my claim reappeared within 24 hours with all back payments. I'd also recommend checking your spam folder and any old emails from EDD for verification requests you might have missed. Don't give up - based on what I've seen here, persistence really does pay off! Keep trying different approaches and document everything. Sending positive thoughts your way! 🙏

It's reassuring that your claim reappeared with all back payments once the verification was completed.
