SDI claim disappeared after doctor extension - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm freaking out a little bit. I logged into my SDI account today and my active claim has completely disappeared from the system. My doctor just extended the claim, and now it's gone. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do?

Ugh, that sucks! I had something similar happen to me last month. It's probably just a glitch in their system. Have you tried calling them? 🤔

I've been trying to call all morning but can't get through. The wait times are insane! 😫

Classic EDD... their phone system is a joke. I swear they do this on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. 🙄

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Keep trying tho, sometimes you get lucky if you call right when they open.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? That's steep. Is it really worth it?

I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. For me, it was definitely worth it. Your mileage may vary tho 🤷‍♂️

This happened to me before. Don't panic! Sometimes it takes a few days for the extension to show up in the system. Give it 48 hours and check again.

Have you checked your mail? Sometimes they send important notices about claim status changes through snail mail instead of updating the online system. It's archaic, I know 🙄

I haven't received anything in the mail yet, but I'll keep an eye out. Thanks for the tip!

Ok, let me break this down for you. Here's what you need to do: 1. Don't panic. This happens more often than you'd think. 2. Take screenshots of your account showing the missing claim. You might need this later. 3. Check your email spam folder for any communications from SDI. 4. Try logging out and back in, sometimes that refreshes the system. 5. If it's still not there after 48 hours, you need to contact them. 6. Use the contact form on their website to create a paper trail. 7. Keep calling, but try during off-peak hours (like right before they close). 8. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite these issues. Remember, the system is overloaded right now, so be patient but persistent. Good luck!

This is great advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every email, every letter. It might come in handy later.

am i the only 1 who thinks the whole SDI system needs a complete overhaul? its 2023 ffs, why are we dealing with disappearing claims and hour-long hold times? 🤡

Preach! 🙌 The system is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point.

Careful what you wish for. Last time they tried to "upgrade" the system, it was down for weeks. 😅

Have you tried checking your claim status through their automated phone system? Sometimes it updates faster than the website.
