EDD SDI payment delay after doctor's supplemental certification - No updates for a month, need advice
I'm so frustrated with the disability payment system. My doctor submitted a supplemental certification to extend my disability, but I haven't received any payments for almost a month. I checked my online account and there's no new messages except that they got my doctor's info. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm worried about bills piling up and I don't know what to do. I even signed up for PFL since my disability ended, but I still need those back payments. Any advice on how to get through to someone or speed up this process?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and online account updates. 2. Contact your local state representative or senator. They often have staff dedicated to helping with these issues. 3. Be prepared when you do get through. Have all your claim numbers, dates, and specific questions ready. 4. Ask about any additional documentation they might need. Sometimes there's a form you're missing and they won't tell you unless you ask. 5. Inquire about the specific reason for the delay. Is it a system issue? Paperwork problem? Understanding the cause can help you address it. 6. Request a supervisor if the first person you talk to can't help. 7. Follow up regularly. Set reminders to check your account and call back if you don't see updates. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

β’Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try contacting my rep. Do you have any tips for finding their contact info?

β’Sure thing! Just google "[Your State] find my representative". Most states have websites where you can enter your address and it'll show you who represents you. Good luck!

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my claim got stuck. Keep calling and don't take no for an answer. You might have to be a Karen about it, but it's your money!

Have you checked if there's any discrepancy between your doctor's submission and your claim? Sometimes even a small mismatch can cause delays. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in the system.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep calling until you get through. It sucks, but it's the only way to get answers sometimes.

Claimyr seems to be a legitimate option for those who are struggling to get through to the EDD but are wary of using it due to the fee. However, it's important to weigh the benefits of possibly saving hours of time and frustration against the cost. For those who need immediate assistance and have exhausted other options, it could be worth considering. But always remember, it's crucial to stay vigilant and ensure that any service used is credible. Additionally, finding support through your local representatives, documenting everything, and exploring both traditional and social media avenues for contact can also be effective strategies in resolving these issues. Persistence, as frustrating as it might be, often yields results in the complex world of disability payments and benefits.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - it's been 3 weeks since my doctor submitted additional paperwork and radio silence from EDD. One thing that helped me was calling the technical support line instead of the regular claims line (1-800-563-2441). They can sometimes see different information in the system or at least confirm whether your doctor's submission was properly processed. Also, if you have any local disability advocacy groups in your area, they often have contacts or know the best strategies for your specific region. Don't give up - I know it's exhausting but your persistence will pay off eventually! πͺ
