EDD Disability Payment Delays After Extensions - What Can I Do?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my disability payments and could use some advice. My doctor submitted two disability extensions, one on 4/3 and another on 4/21, but I haven't received any payments since early April. I'm wondering if there's anything I should do to make sure I keep getting payments after these extensions were submitted. Also, does anyone know when I might expect my next payment? This waiting game is driving me crazy!

Ugh, I feel your pain! The disability system can be such a nightmare sometimes. Have you tried calling them directly? That's usually the best way to get answers, even though it can be a hassle.

•Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have better luck getting through!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep for a phone call.

•Trust me, after spending days trying to get through, it was worth every penny. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your documents, including proof of the extensions submitted on 4/3 and 4/21. 2. Call EDD and ask them to verify if both extensions have been processed. 3. Find out if there's anything else they need from you to release the payments. 4. Get an estimated timeframe for your next payment. 5. If they can't help, ask to speak with a supervisor. 6. Keep a record of all your calls and who you spoke with. 7. If you still don't get anywhere, consider contacting your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Good luck! The system is a mess rn, but don't give up!

Quick question - did you get any kind of confirmation when your doctor submitted those extensions? Might be worth double-checking with your doc to make sure they went through on their end.

•That's a good point. I'll give my doctor's office a call tomorrow to verify. Thanks!

Hate to say it, but you might be in for a long wait. I had a similar situation last year and it took them almost 3 months to sort it out. Keep pushing tho!

•3 months?! Oh man, I hope it doesn't take that long. Bills are piling up... 😰

•Have you looked into any emergency assistance programs in your area? Might help tide you over while you wait.
