SDI automatic payments stopped after extension - help!
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my disability payments. My doctor submitted an extension that's showing up on the disability website, but my automatic payments haven't come through since the end of March. The disability info is up to date, but it seems like the payments got switched off somehow. Anyone else dealing with this or know what I should do?

Ugh, that sucks. I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes the system glitches and you need a human to manually restart the payments.

•I've been trying to call but can't get through. It's so frustrating 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have to wait on hold for a while, but at least you'll get in the queue.

•Or try calling at like 4:55 PM. Sometimes they stay late to finish up calls in the queue.

This happened to me too! It took forever to fix. Here's what I did: 1. Double-check that your doctor actually submitted the extension (sometimes they say they did but didn't) 2. Send a message through the online portal explaining the situation 3. Keep calling every day (I know, it sucks) 4. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Good luck! The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•Contacting your rep is solid advice. They helped me with an EDD issue last year. Don't be afraid to bug them!

Have you checked your bank info on the website? Sometimes they randomly unlink your account for "security reasons" 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny tbh.

•How long did it take to get through?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

This whole system is a joke. They make it so hard to get help when you need it most. Hang in there, OP!

•For real. It's like they want us to give up 🙃

Have you checked if theres any new forms you need to fill out? Sometimes they sneakily add new requirements without telling anyone 🕵️♂️

•I haven't seen anything new, but I'll double-check. Thanks for the tip!

Oof, been there done that. The disability office is a black hole where common sense goes to die. Keep pushin tho, you'll get it sorted eventually!

This is such a common issue unfortunately! I went through the exact same thing last year - extension approved online but payments just stopped. Turned out there was a "review hold" on my account that wasn't showing up anywhere on the website. When I finally got through to someone, they cleared it in like 5 minutes. Definitely try the early morning calling strategy others mentioned, and don't give up. The backpay should come through once they fix whatever glitch is causing this. Keep us posted on how it goes!
