ESD payment stuck on 'processing web' in 3rd week - should I be worried?

This is my 3rd week filing for unemployment and I'm getting anxious. My payments for the first two weeks came through fine (on Thursdays), but today my payment status is still showing 'processing web' instead of 'paid'. I've already certified like normal on Sunday, and there were no issues flagged in my account. I noticed I'm supposed to schedule a meeting with my local WorkSource office, but the deadline says I have until the 29th to do that. Could the meeting requirement be holding up my payment even though the deadline hasn't passed yet? Has anyone else experienced a delay like this? I'm starting to worry since I have rent coming up next week.

The WorkSource appointment deadline shouldn't affect your payment - they're separate systems. 'Processing web' usually means it's just taking a bit longer in the queue. Sometimes my payments would show as processing for an extra day but still arrive in my account on time. Have you checked your bank account directly? Sometimes the ESD portal updates slower than the actual payment processing.

Just checked my bank account and nothing's there yet. It's never taken this long before. Do you think it could be because Monday was a holiday this week? Maybe that pushed everything back a day?

Thanks, that's reassuring. I'll try to be patient and check tomorrow.

There's definitely a delay this week - I'm in the same boat! I called ESD about it this morning and they said many payments are delayed by 1-2 days because of some technical issue they're having with their payment processor. The agent told me payments should resume normally by tomorrow or Friday at the latest. Said it's affecting quite a few people but that all approved payments WILL be processed, just running behind schedule.

Wow, thank you SO MUCH for sharing this info! I've been stressing all day. How did you actually get through to someone at ESD? I tried calling earlier and got the usual 'high call volume' message.

I used Claimyr to get through to an ESD agent. It's this service that gets you a callback from ESD without waiting on hold for hours. Costs a bit but was worth it for my peace of mind. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. I was skeptical but got a callback in about 30 minutes. The agent confirmed my payment was approved, just delayed in processing.

I might try that if my payment doesn't show up by tomorrow afternoon. Getting really nervous since I've got bills that need to be paid. Thanks again for the info!

This happened to me a few months back. Turned out I had accidentally triggered an eligibility review when I reported some odd-job income. My payment got held up for almost two weeks while they sorted it out. Did you report any income or changes in your situation this week that might have triggered a review? Check your correspondence tab in eServices - sometimes they send notices about these issues.

I didn't report any income or changes... just filed my weekly claim like normal. I checked my correspondence tab and there's nothing new there. Getting worried that maybe something is wrong but they haven't told me about it yet.

If there's nothing in your correspondence tab, it's probably just the system delay others mentioned. One other thing to check - go to your weekly claims tab and make sure this week's claim shows as

THE SYSTEM IS A MESS!! Last year I had SIX WEEKS where payments just randomly stopped and then started again with NO EXPLANATION!!! ESD never tells you anything useful and half the people who work there don't even know their own rules!!! Don't count on that money until it's actually in your account!!!

While I understand your frustration, I think this is likely just the processing delay others have mentioned. @OP - if your claim status says

Maybe YOU got lucky but I'm just warning people that ESD is totally unreliable! Better to know the truth than get your hopes up!

Thanks for the update! Just checked my account and my payment came through this morning too! Such a relief. The ESD portal still shows processing for me as well. Guess their system is just running behind on updates.

Glad to hear it worked out for both of you! The ESD agent I spoke with mentioned their payment status system often lags 1-2 days behind actual payments during these processing delays. Definitely worth checking your bank account directly rather than just relying on the ESD portal status.
