Why is my ESD weekly claim stuck on 'Processing-web' after filing Sunday?

I filed my weekly unemployment claim online Sunday morning around 9:30am, and it's now been over 24 hours but my account still shows 'Processing-web' status. I usually see it change to 'paid' by Monday morning. Does anyone else still have their claim showing as 'Processing-web'? Is there some kind of system delay happening this week? Getting nervous since rent is due soon and I need this payment to clear.

Mine's doing the same thing! Filed Sunday at 7am and still showing Processing-web. ESD must be having a system issue or something. I called the automated line and it confirmed my claim was received but nothing about payment status.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone! Did you try checking your payment status on the automated phone system too? Or just the claim submission confirmation?

This happens sometimes - especially at the beginning of a quarter. ESD's system gets backed up processing all the claims from Sunday. I wouldn't worry unless it still says Processing-web by Wednesday. They usually have until Thursday to process payments anyway according to their guidelines.

Oh, is it the start of a new quarter? I didn't even think about that being a factor. I'll try to be patient until Wednesday then. Thanks!

my claim does this ALL THE TIME and it drives me crazy!!! sometimes it stays on processing for like 3 days then suddenly changes to paid. ESD needs to fix there systems seriously

Their system does batch processing, so claims get processed in groups. It's not really broken, just inefficient. The status updates aren't real-time which causes a lot of confusion for claimants.

If you need to talk to someone at ESD about your claim, I'd recommend trying Claimyr. I was stuck in the same situation last month and couldn't get through on the phones. Claimyr got me connected to an ESD agent in about 25 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. The agent told me sometimes the processing delay happens when there's a flag on your account they need to review.

Thanks for the recommendation! I might give that a try if it's still stuck by tomorrow afternoon. Did the agent tell you what kind of flags might cause delays?

In my case, it was because I reported some part-time hours that were different from the previous week. Any change in your reporting can trigger a manual review. The agent cleared it right away once I explained the situation.

Yes! It was super sluggish when I tried checking again about an hour ago. Had to refresh twice.

This is a known issue right now with the ESD system. A client service rep told me they're experiencing higher than normal volume due to some seasonal layoffs in construction and agriculture. Your claim is fine, but processing times are extended by 24-48 hours this week. As long as you filed on time, your payment will still be processed - it just might take until Thursday to show up in your account. One tip: Check your bank account directly rather than just the ESD portal. Sometimes the money is deposited even while the status still says processing.

That's a great tip about checking my bank directly! I just looked and nothing's there yet, but I'll keep an eye on it. Good to know about the seasonal layoffs causing delays - that actually makes a lot of sense with the weather changing.

Anyone know if this delay affects standby status too? I'm on standby with my employer and worried this might mess up my return to work date somehow.

No, the processing delay only affects payment timing, not your standby status. Your standby end date is set separately in the system and won't be affected by payment processing times.

UPDATE: Mine finally changed to 'paid' status this morning! So it took about 48 hours instead of the usual 24. Just wanted to let everyone know in case you're still waiting on yours.
