TWC payment request from Sunday still not processed by Wednesday - should I be worried?

I submitted my payment request on Sunday around 3pm and it's now Wednesday afternoon (when I typically get my direct deposit) but my payment status still shows as 'pending' on the TWC portal. Normally by Tuesday night it's processed and the money hits my account Wednesday morning like clockwork. This is the first time in 6 weeks of unemployment that it's been delayed. My work search activities are all logged correctly and nothing has changed with my claim. Is anyone else experiencing delays this week? Should I try calling TWC or just wait another day?

That makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one. Wonder if they're having system issues or something.

This happens occasionally when TWC has a high volume of payment requests or when they're doing system updates. If your payment status is showing as 'pending' (not 'denied' or anything else), then the system has accepted your request and it's in the queue for processing. I'd recommend waiting until Friday before calling. If it hasn't processed by then, you should definitely contact them to make sure there isn't an issue with your claim. Also, double-check that your payment method hasn't expired or changed - sometimes banks can hold deposits longer than usual, especially if there's been any recent account changes.

Great advice, thank you! My status definitely says 'pending' not 'denied' so that's reassuring. And I haven't made any changes to my bank account. I'll wait until Friday before I try calling.

Mine's late too! Glad I found this thread because I was starting to worry something was wrong with my claim. Usually super reliable with the timing.

I experienced this EXACT same thing last month. Payment request on Sunday, usually paid by Wednesday, but it didn't process until Thursday afternoon that week. When I finally got through to someone at TWC (took forever!!), they said they had a processing backlog due to system maintenance that had been scheduled. The frustrating part was they never notify us about these delays! If you do need to call them, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I wasted 2 days trying to get through on my own with constant busy signals. Then I found this service that gets you on the TWC callback list without having to keep redialing yourself. They have a demo video here: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh But honestly, based on my experience, I bet your payment will process tomorrow. TWC is probably just running behind this week.

Thanks for sharing your experience. That's frustrating they don't notify us about maintenance or delays. I'll check out that service if I do need to call tomorrow - those busy signals are the worst!

The TWC system is GARBAGE!! This happens to me at least once every couple months. Sometimes they blame "banking delays" but it's THEIR system that's the problem. They expect us to submit everything perfectly on time but then they can't even process payments consistently. BEYOND FRUSTRATING when you're counting on that money for bills. The worst part is trying to get answers - you call and call and call and just get busy signals. Then when you finally get through, you're on hold for an hour just to talk to someone who has no real information about the delay. "It's processing" is all they'll tell you. ARGH!

dude chill its probably just gonna be a day late lol

Easy to say "chill" when you don't have bills due TODAY that you planned to pay with money that should have been deposited. When you're on a tight budget, even a one-day delay can mean late fees and more stress.

This is actually a common occurrence at the beginning of each quarter (which is where we are now). TWC often runs system updates during these periods, and payment processing can be delayed by 1-2 business days. I recommend checking your correspondence inbox on the TWC portal to see if there's any notice about system maintenance. They sometimes post these notices, though not consistently. If your payment status shows as 'pending' and not 'denied' or 'held,' it almost always means the payment will process, just on a delayed schedule. In my experience working with unemployment claims, as long as all your work search requirements are properly documented (which you mentioned they are), and there haven't been any changes to your claim, this is very likely just a routine processing delay. I would wait until Friday morning. If the payment hasn't processed by then, that's when you should call TWC to inquire. Just make sure you have your work search logs handy when you call, as they may ask you to verify that information.

Thank you for this detailed explanation! I didn't realize the beginning of the quarter might cause delays, but that makes sense. I'll check my correspondence inbox right now and then wait until Friday if needed. Really appreciate the info!

My sister had this happen and it turned out she accidentally clicked something wrong on her work search log and didn't notice. Make sure you didn't accidentally say you refused work or something weird like that. Just a thought!

I double-checked my work search log and everything looks correct. I definitely didn't refuse any work or make any changes to my normal reporting. But thanks for the suggestion - those little details can definitely cause issues!

UPDATE: My payment just processed! It's now showing as "paid" on the portal with today's date. Should be in my account tomorrow morning. Looks like it was just delayed by a day. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance!

Great news! Glad it worked out. This is pretty typical for TWC - delays happen occasionally but the payments usually come through if your claim is in good standing.
