TWC payment request not processing at midnight - unusual delay?
I'm freaking out a little bit. Every other time I've submitted my payment request on Monday night, it shows as 'processing' by midnight when Tuesday starts. I just checked my TWC account (it's 1:20 AM now) and there's nothing showing up under the payment status section. It just says my last payment was 2 weeks ago. I did everything the same as always - answered all the questions, reported my work search activities, and got the confirmation number. Has the TWC system changed recently? Is anyone else experiencing delays with their payment processing time? I'm worried something's wrong with my claim and I really need this money to make rent next week.

•Thanks for responding. I hope you're right - I've just never seen it take this long before. I'll check again when I wake up.

This is actually something I've noticed recently too. The TWC system used to process payment requests almost immediately after midnight, but in the last couple months it seems to be taking until around 6-8 AM before statuses update. I've been collecting unemployment since January (layoff from tech industry), and the timing has definitely changed. A few things to check: 1. Confirm your payment request was actually submitted (you should have received a confirmation number) 2. Make sure you've completed all your work search activities (minimum 3 per week) 3. Check if you have any pending issues on your claim If everything looks normal on your end, I wouldn't worry too much yet. Give it until business hours tomorrow before panicking.

•This is reassuring - so you think it's a system-wide change and not specific to my claim? I did get the confirmation number and I've completed 4 work search activities (even though only 3 are required). I don't see any pending issues, but I'm always afraid I'm missing something.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS A MESS!!! I've been dealing with this garbage for 3 months now. Sometimes my payment shows up in 2 hours, sometimes 2 DAYS! No rhyme or reason. Then when you try calling to ask what's going on you just get busy signals FOR DAYS!!! They don't care if we can't pay our bills, they just want to make it as DIFFICULT as possible to get the money WE PAID INTO THE SYSTEM!!

•OMG so true. Last month they randomly put my claim on hold because they said they needed to "verify my identity" again even though I already did the ID.me thing when I first applied. Couldn't reach anyone for a week.

This happens sometimes. TWC likely has system maintenance or high volume processing happening. As long as you received a confirmation number when you submitted your payment request, you should be fine. The system might take until morning or even into the afternoon to show the processing status. If you don't see it processing by tomorrow afternoon, then I would recommend trying to contact TWC. However, be prepared for long wait times on the phone - you might want to try using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to help you get through to an agent faster. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh I used them last month when my payment was stuck in pending status for a week, and they got me connected to a TWC agent who fixed it right away.

•Thanks for the advice. I've never heard of Claimyr before - does it really work? I've spent hours redailing TWC before and it's so frustrating. If my payment isn't showing by tomorrow afternoon I might give it a try.

•Yes, it worked for me. Instead of spending days hitting redial, I got through to a TWC agent in about 20 minutes. They basically just handle the calling and waiting part for you, then connect you once they get through. Saved me a lot of stress during an already stressful time.

This started happening around March 2025 when TWC updated their processing system. I used to see my payment request status change right at midnight too, but now it typically updates between 6-10 AM the next morning. It's nothing to worry about - just a change in their processing schedule. If you have your confirmation number from when you submitted the request, your payment is in the system. The timing of when the status updates doesn't affect when the money actually gets deposited to your account/card. The only time you should worry is if: 1. You don't see any update by Wednesday morning 2. The status changes to something other than "processing" (like "denied" or "pending adjudication") 3. You get a correspondence in your TWC inbox about an issue with your claim Hope this helps ease your mind!

•Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I just checked again this morning (7:30 AM) and it's now showing as processing. Huge relief! And now I know not to panic next time.

When I was on unemployment last year I had this happen a few times. I think sometimes their system gets backed up especially if lots of people are filing around the same time. One time I literally called TWC like 87 times before I got through (not exaggerating) and they told me everything was fine, it was just a processing delay. But of course by then it had already resolved itself so I wasted all that time calling 🙄

•87 times??!! That's RIDICULOUS! That's what I'm saying - they DELIBERATELY make it impossible to talk to a human being. And then people wonder why we get stressed out about delays!!

I'm glad to see your payment is now showing as processing! This is actually a really helpful thread for understanding the recent changes to TWC's system. I've been on unemployment for about 6 weeks now and noticed the same delay pattern - used to update right at midnight, now it's usually sometime in the morning. For anyone else reading this who might be new to the system, I've learned a few things that help reduce the anxiety: 1. Keep screenshots of your confirmation numbers and submission times 2. Set a reminder to check Wednesday morning instead of staying up late Monday/Tuesday 3. The actual deposit timing to your bank/card hasn't changed, just the status updates It's frustrating that TWC doesn't communicate these system changes clearly, but at least we can share info here to help each other out. Thanks everyone for the reassuring responses!

•This is such great advice, especially about keeping screenshots! I wish I had thought of that earlier. I've been taking pictures of my confirmation screens now after reading this thread. It's also really helpful to know that the deposit timing hasn't actually changed - that was one of my biggest worries. Thanks for putting together such a clear summary of what we've all learned here!

Just wanted to add my experience to this thread since it might help others who find this post later. I've been collecting unemployment since February and noticed the exact same pattern - payments used to show processing right at midnight, but now it's usually between 7-9 AM before the status updates. What I've found helpful is checking the TWC mobile app instead of the website sometimes. Occasionally the app updates a bit faster than the main site, though not always. Also, if you're really anxious like I was my first few weeks, you can always log back in to double-check that your work search activities are showing up correctly in your account - that gives me peace of mind that everything was recorded properly. One more tip: if you ever do need to call TWC, Tuesday through Thursday mid-morning seems to be the best time to get through. Avoid Mondays completely - that's when everyone is trying to file and the phone lines are completely jammed. Hope this helps anyone else dealing with the same anxiety about payment delays!

•Thank you for sharing your experience and all these helpful tips! I'm pretty new to collecting unemployment (just started last month) and this whole thread has been incredibly reassuring. I had no idea about the mobile app potentially updating faster - I'll definitely try that next week. And good to know about the best calling times too, though hopefully I won't need to use that info! It's really nice to see how supportive everyone is here in sharing what they've learned. Makes dealing with all this uncertainty a lot less stressful.

This thread is so helpful! I'm in week 3 of unemployment and had the exact same panic last week when my payment didn't show up at midnight like usual. Ended up staying awake until 3 AM refreshing the page like crazy. Now I know it's just the new normal with their system changes. One thing I learned from my cousin who's been on unemployment longer - she sets up text alerts through her bank so she knows as soon as the deposit hits, rather than obsessing over the TWC status page. That way you can just focus on the actual money arriving instead of watching the processing status. Might be worth setting up if your bank offers it! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. It really helps to know we're all going through the same thing with these delays.

•That's such a smart idea about the bank text alerts! I never thought of that but it makes so much sense - why stress about the status page when you can just get notified when the actual money arrives? I'm definitely going to look into setting that up with my bank. And I totally relate to the staying up until 3 AM refreshing thing - I did the exact same thing last week before I found this thread. It's amazing how much anxiety this whole process creates when you're already dealing with being unemployed. Thanks for sharing that tip!

Wow, reading through all these responses has been so reassuring! I'm about 5 weeks into unemployment and experienced the exact same panic when my payment didn't process at midnight like it used to. I actually found this thread by googling "TWC payment not processing midnight" at like 2 AM last week when I was freaking out. It's really helpful to know this is a system-wide change that started in March 2025 and not something wrong with individual claims. The tip about bank text alerts is genius - I just set that up so I won't have to obsess over the status page anymore. For anyone else who finds this thread while panicking like I did: take a deep breath, you're not alone, and it's probably just the normal delay everyone else is experiencing. This community has been such a lifeline for navigating all the TWC quirks and changes. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and tips!
