TWC payment request submitted Sunday - update tonight or tomorrow?

Hey everyone, I'm a bit confused about the TWC payment request timing. I submitted my biweekly payment request on Sunday evening around 6pm through the online portal. Normally I do it earlier but had a family thing. Anyone know if my account will update with the payment status tonight (Monday) or do I have to wait until Tuesday morning? I'm trying to figure out when I can expect the funds to hit my account. Getting a little nervous because rent is due end of week and my landlord isn't exactly the understanding type.

TWC usually processes payment requests submitted on Sunday by the next business day, which is Monday. Your account should update either late tonight or very early Tuesday morning. The online status typically updates overnight. If you filed on Sunday, I'd expect to see the deposit hit your account by Wednesday or Thursday, depending on your bank's processing time.

Thanks so much! That's what I was thinking but wanted to double check. So I'll probably see the status change tomorrow and then the actual money 1-2 days after that? That should work for rent timing.

Mine NEVER updates the same night!!! I always request Sunday (you can do it anytime between Sunday-Saturday of your request week) and it doesn't show as processed until Tuesday morning most weeks. Sometimes even Wednesday!!! And then another 2-3 days for the money. TWC system is SO SLOW compared to other states. My cousin in California gets his unemployment payment literally the SAME DAY he requests it. Texas system is stuck in 1995 I swear.

The TWC system processes payment requests in batches. Sunday submissions are typically processed Monday night, with the account showing updated status on Tuesday morning. Direct deposits generally take 2-3 business days after processing, while the TWC debit card may receive funds 1-2 days after processing. The timing is fairly consistent unless there are holidays or system maintenance periods.

I was having the same issue with payment requests taking forever to process. I started using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to TWC agents directly when I had problems with delayed payments. They have this system that gets you past the busy signals and actually connects you to a rep. Saved me from waiting days just to ask a simple question. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. Really helped when my payment was stuck for a week with no explanation.

Does that claimyr thing actually work? I've been trying to get thru to TWC for 3 days straight!

Yeah it definitely works! I was skeptical at first but was desperate after calling for days. Got connected to a TWC agent in about 20 minutes instead of dealing with constant busy signals. The agent was able to tell me exactly why my payment was delayed and fixed it right there.

Dont worry to much it will update. Sometimes I've seen mine update late Monday night like 11pm but usually Tuesday morning by 8am. But the actual money doesnt show up until later anyway. As long as you did your work searches correctly (3 per week minimum) you'll be fine!

Yeah, I definitely did all my work searches and have them documented. I always do at least 4 just to be safe. Thanks for the reassurance!

You're absolutely right. Once TWC processes the payment, the timing of when funds appear in your account varies by financial institution. Some banks process ACH transfers faster than others. Credit unions often take longer than major banks. This is separate from TWC's processing time, which generally follows the same schedule for everyone.

Yes! I got the confirmation number and screenshot it just to be safe. I've been burned before by thinking I completed something only to find out it didn't go through.

BTW if you're worried about timing for rent you can call your landlord and explain. They legally have to give you 3 days notice before starting eviction proceedings anyway. And eviction takes WEEKS. So don't stress too much about being a couple days late if it comes to that.

This isn't entirely accurate. While landlords typically must provide notice before eviction, the exact requirements vary by city and lease terms. Late fees can still apply immediately, and even a single late payment can affect your rental history. It's always best to communicate proactively with your landlord if you anticipate being late, but don't assume you automatically have extra days. Each lease agreement has specific terms about when rent is considered late.

To give you the official answer: TWC processes Sunday payment requests during their Monday night batch processing cycle. Your online account status typically updates between 2am-6am Tuesday morning. Direct deposit payments are then sent to your bank on Tuesday, with most banks posting the funds by Thursday (some faster, some slower). If you use the TWC debit card, funds usually appear Wednesday morning. Note that any holidays can delay this standard timeline by one business day.

This is super helpful - really appreciate the detailed breakdown of the timeline. Sounds like I should be fine for rent as long as there are no unexpected issues with my claim.
