TWC payment delay after Monday request - still not received
Has anyone else noticed TWC payments being delayed this week? I submitted my payment request on Monday (my regular request day) and it's now Thursday afternoon with nothing deposited to my account yet. Normally the money hits my bank by Wednesday morning at the latest. My payment status online says 'processed' but there's no money. I've been receiving benefits for about 8 weeks with no problems until now. I'm starting to get worried since I have rent due next week. Is the TWC system experiencing delays or should I be concerned something's wrong with my claim?

The TWC payment system actually has been running behind this week. My payment request was processed on Sunday, and I just got my deposit this morning (Thursday). That's 2 days later than usual for me. I saw on the TWC Facebook page they're having some technical issues with their payment processing system that should be resolved by the end of the week.

•Thanks for letting me know! That's a relief. I didn't think to check their Facebook page for updates. I'll wait a couple more days before I panic then.

•Same here! This is the first time since I started on unemployment that it's been this late. Making me nervous...

I've been on TX unemployment for 4 months now and let me tell you, this happens at least once every 6-8 weeks. The system goes down or they have a "processing delay" and everyone panics. THEY NEVER ANNOUNCE IT OFFICIALLY until people start flooding their phone lines!! So frustrating. Last time this happened, I waited 9 days for a payment that should have taken 2-3 days. And good luck trying to reach anyone by phone to ask about it - you'll just get a busy signal all day long.

•9 DAYS?! I can't wait that long! Do you remember if your online status showed 'processed' during that time too? I'm wondering if I should try calling to make sure there isn't actually a problem with my claim specifically.

If your payment status shows as "processed" in the system, that's actually a good sign. It means the TWC has approved the payment and it's just waiting to be sent to your bank. When there's a real problem with your claim, you'll usually see a different status like "pending" or "under investigation" or sometimes nothing at all for that week. The TWC batch processing system runs Monday-Friday, so payments requested on Monday normally hit accounts Tuesday or Wednesday. But when they have system delays, it can take until Friday or even roll over to the following week. As long as your payment status shows "processed" you should eventually receive it without having to call in.

•That's usually true, but not always. My buddy had a payment stuck on "processed" for 3 weeks and when he finally got through to someone, they told him there was an identity verification flag on his account that nobody bothered to tell him about! The system is totally broken.

After dealing with payment delays last month, I found Claimyr (claimyr.com) and it saved me so much frustration. You can actually get through to a TWC agent instead of hearing busy signals all day. I was skeptical at first but their system actually works - you can see a demo at https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh to see how it works. If your payment doesn't show up by tomorrow, it might be worth using to find out exactly what's going on rather than just waiting and hoping. When I had my delayed payment issue, I found out there was a simple flag on my account that the agent cleared up in 5 minutes once I actually reached someone.

•I've never heard of this service before. Might be worth it if I don't see the money by tomorrow. Did you have to provide a lot of personal info to use it?

•Not really - it just helps you get through the phone system to an actual TWC agent. You still talk directly with the TWC yourself. I was able to get through in about 30 minutes instead of spending days trying to get past busy signals.

I got my payment request two days late this week. Ijust thought it was my bank but i guess its a TWC thing. So whats the proper term anyway are we supposed to call it "payment request" or "filing a weekly claim"? I get confused by all these different terms they use lol

•In Texas, the correct term is "request payment" or "payment request" - that's what you do every two weeks after you've been approved for benefits. "Filing a claim" is what you do at the very beginning of the unemployment process. Other states use different terminology which is why it gets confusing when you read advice online.

Anyone else notice their payment amount was slightly different this week? I finally got mine today and it was $12 less than usual. No explanation why.

Just a heads up to everyone - my payment finally hit my account this morning. It looks like they're working through the backlog. Hopefully everyone else will receive theirs soon too!
