TWC second payment delay - still no deposit after 3 days
I'm confused about the payment timeline with TWC. Just got my first unemployment payment on May 24th (I had requested it on the 19th, so it took about 5 days). I submitted my second payment request this past Sunday, but nothing has shown up in my account yet. It's now Thursday! Is this normal or should I be worried? The first payment came through pretty quick, so I'm not sure why this one is taking longer. Does TWC have different processing times for follow-up payments? My rent is due next week so I'm starting to stress.

TWC can be super inconsistent with deposit times. My first one came in 3 days but second took like 8 days for no reason at all. As long as your payment request status shows 'processed' in the system ur probably fine

•Thanks for replying! Where exactly do I check if it shows 'processed'? I looked under the Payment Request Status section and it just says 'Payment Request Received' with the date but nothing about processing.

TWC payment processing times can vary, especially if it's your first few payments. Typically, you should expect to receive your deposit within 2-3 business days after requesting payment, but it can take up to 7-10 business days in some cases. Several factors can affect this timeline: 1. Bank processing times (direct deposit can be faster than debit card) 2. If it's a holiday week 3. Whether there are any pending issues on your claim 4. Higher volume of claims being processed I'd recommend checking your payment status on the TWC website under "Claim and Payment Status" or call the Tele-Serv system at 800-558-8321. If your payment status shows "processed" but you haven't received funds, contact your bank. If it's still showing as "pending" after 5+ business days, you may need to contact TWC directly.

•Thanks for the detailed info! Just checked and it shows 'Payment Request Received' but nothing about processing or being approved yet. This is stressful since I've got bills coming up. I'll wait until tomorrow and then try to contact them if nothing changes.

I've been on unemployment since February and I STILL have problems with random payment delays. Some weeks it's 2 days, others it's a full week with ZERO explanation! The TWC system is SO broken. They expect us to do everything perfectly on time but then take however long they want to actually give us OUR MONEY. Try calling them - HA! Good luck getting through!!

Has anyone checked if theres a holiday this week that might be slowing things down? I remember Memorial Day messed up my timeline last month. Also are you using direct deposit or the TWC debit card? The card usually takes an extra day.

•I'm using direct deposit to my checking account. And no, there's no holiday this week that I'm aware of. That's why I'm confused about the delay compared to my first payment.

If you don't see any status change by tomorrow, you should definitely call TWC to check if there's an issue with your claim. Sometimes the second payment gets flagged for additional verification even when the first one went through smoothly. I had this happen and it turned out they needed to verify one of my work search activities. Here's a tip though - instead of spending hours trying to reach TWC on your own, I recently discovered a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to a TWC agent in about 15 minutes instead of trying for days. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh It was super helpful when I had a similar issue with delayed payment, and the TWC agent was able to resolve my problem right away once I actually got through to them.

•That's good to know! I didn't realize they might flag the second payment differently. I'll try calling them tomorrow, and if I can't get through I'll check out that service. Spending hours on hold is the last thing I need right now.

Totally normal for TWC to be inconsistent with payment timeframes. My payments last year would vary between 2-7 business days with no rhyme or reason. The important thing is making sure your payment request status eventually changes from "received" to "processed." If it stays on "received" for more than a week, that's when you should worry. Also, do you have any earnings to report for that second payment request period? Sometimes that can slow things down as they need to calculate your partial benefit amount.

•No, I didn't have any earnings to report that week. I've been completely unemployed since getting laid off last month. But I just checked again and it finally changed to 'processed' about an hour ago! So hopefully that means I'll get the deposit tomorrow.

That's great news! When the status changes to 'processed,' it typically means the funds have been sent to your bank or payment method. You should see the deposit within 1-2 business days, depending on your bank's processing time. If you have direct deposit, it's often faster than the TWC debit card option. For future reference, TWC payment processing can follow this general timeline: - Payment Request Received → Initial acknowledgment of your request - Processing → TWC is reviewing your request - Processed → Payment has been approved and sent Glad to hear you'll likely receive your funds soon! For ongoing claims, it helps to request payment on your designated day and keep good records of all your work search activities.

•Thanks everyone for the help! The payment just hit my account this morning. I guess I'll just need to be more patient with future payments and not expect them to always come as quickly as the first one did. Still weird how inconsistent the timing is though!

Glad to hear you got your payment! Yeah, TWC's inconsistent timing is definitely frustrating when you're trying to budget. I've been dealing with this for months now and have learned to just expect variability. One thing that helps is setting up low balance alerts with your bank so you're not constantly checking your account. Also, if you ever have issues again, documenting the exact dates of your requests and when payments hit can be useful if you need to call TWC about patterns or delays.

•That's really smart advice about the low balance alerts! I never thought of that but it would definitely save me from obsessively checking my account every few hours. And keeping track of the timing patterns is a great idea too - maybe I can start to predict when payments will actually come through based on my own data rather than just hoping for consistency from TWC.

Honestly, the inconsistent timing with TWC is one of the most stressful parts of being unemployed. I'm glad you finally got your payment! For what it's worth, I've noticed that sometimes the second and third payments take longer because they do random quality checks - not necessarily because there's a problem with your claim, but just part of their process. It's super annoying when you're trying to manage bills and rent. I started keeping a small emergency fund specifically for these TWC delays after going through this myself. Also, if you ever need to call them again, try calling right when they open at 8am - much better chance of getting through than later in the day.

•That's really helpful to know about the random quality checks - I was wondering if I did something wrong! The emergency fund idea is brilliant too. I'm definitely going to start setting aside a little bit from each payment for those inevitable delays. Thanks for the tip about calling at 8am, I'll remember that if I need to reach them again. It's reassuring to know other people have dealt with this same stress and found ways to manage it.

I've been through similar delays with TWC and it's definitely nerve-wracking when you have bills due! One thing I learned is that TWC often processes payments in batches, so sometimes there can be random delays even when everything is correct on your end. Since your status changed to 'processed', that's actually a really good sign - it means they've approved your payment and sent it to your bank. In my experience, once it hits 'processed' status, the money usually shows up within 24-48 hours. TWC's system is just really inconsistent with timing unfortunately. I started requesting my payments earlier in the week (like Monday or Tuesday) to give myself more buffer time before bills are due. Also, if you're using direct deposit, make sure your bank info is still current in your TWC profile - sometimes small changes can cause delays. Hang in there, you should see that deposit very soon!
