TWC direct deposit timing - processed 1/11 but still nothing in bank account?

So I just checked my TWC account and it says my payment was processed on January 11th, but nothing has shown up in my bank account yet. My payment status says 'processed' not 'pending' so I thought it would be there by now. This is my first time getting unemployment benefits so I'm not sure how long the direct deposit usually takes. Can anyone tell me how many business days it normally takes for TWC funds to hit your bank after the process date? I've got rent coming up and I'm getting nervous.

It typically takes 2-3 business days after the process date for the money to appear in your account. So if it was processed on 1/11, you should see it by tomorrow at the latest, assuming there were no holidays this week and your bank doesn't have any holds. Just FYI, some banks also show pending deposits a day before they're fully available, so you might want to check if you have any pending transactions.

Thanks! I checked for pending deposits too but there's nothing yet. I'll try to be patient until tomorrow then.

I'm with Wells Fargo. Maybe they're just slower? This waiting is killing me!

TWC processes payments in batches throughout the day, and the time it takes to reach your account depends on both when your payment was processed and your bank's policies. Most banks receive the direct deposit within 1-2 business days, but some can take up to 3 business days to post it to your account. If it was processed on 1/11 and today is 1/13 (assuming that's the current timeline), you should definitely see it by tomorrow. If you don't, there might be an issue you need to address with TWC or your bank. Also, make sure your direct deposit information is correct in your TWC account. Sometimes people accidentally input the wrong account number or routing number, which can cause delays or rejected payments.

I double-checked my account info on the TWC portal and everything looks correct. I'm hoping it shows up tomorrow then. I've never had a direct deposit take this long before!

OMG i had this EXACT same problem last month!!! TWC said 'processed' but nothing showed up for like 4 days!!! I freaked out and called TWC like 50 times (busy signal every time of course) and then FINALLY got through. They said there was a 'verification hold' on my account that no one told me about!!! Had to answer extra questions and then they released it. Check if u have any messages in ur TWC correspondence inbox maybe?

Oh no, that sounds stressful! I just checked my correspondence inbox and there's nothing new there. No messages about holds or verification. Now I'm worried there's some issue they haven't even told me about.

I had to wait almost a week once. Banks be banks, man. They get our money and sit on it making that sweet interest before they give it to us poor folks lol

THIS!!! The system is rigged against us. TWC and the banks both dragging their feet while we're over here trying to buy groceries and pay bills. It's ridiculous how long they make us wait for OUR money!!

If you need to contact TWC about your payment and can't get through on the main line, I'd recommend using Claimyr. It helped me reach a TWC agent in about 15 minutes last week when I had a similar issue with a delayed payment. They can look up your specific payment in their system and tell you exactly what's going on. You can see how it works at claimyr.com - there's even a video demo at https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh that shows the process. It saved me days of stress and busy signals.

Thanks for the tip! If it doesn't show up tomorrow I'll definitely check that out. I tried calling TWC today but got busy signals for an hour straight.

The first payment usually takes longer than subsequent ones. Mine took 4 business days the first time but now they come pretty regularly 2 days after processing. Also if the 11th was a weekend day, it wouldn't start processing until Monday the 13th really.

That's good to know! The 11th was a weekday though so I thought it would be faster. Hopefully this is just a first-time delay thing like you said.

UPDATE: The money finally hit my account this morning! Seems like it takes exactly 3 business days with Wells Fargo. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance - I can stop panicking about rent now. I'll know what to expect for future payments!

Great news! Yes, Wells Fargo is known to take the full 3 business days for processing. Now that you know the timeline, you can plan accordingly for future payments. Make sure you keep up with your work search requirements (3 activities per week) so there are no interruptions to your benefits.
