TWC deposit timing to Chime account - anyone know how long?
I just got notification that my TWC unemployment payment was processed yesterday (status changed from 'pending' to 'processed' on the payment summary page). I use Chime for my direct deposit and I'm wondering how long it typically takes for the money to actually hit my account? This is my first payment after my claim was approved and I'm running super tight on funds. Anyone with Chime have experience with how long TWC deposits take? My rent is due in 3 days so I'm getting anxious.

Got Chime too. TWC usually hits my account 1-2 business days after it shows processed. Sometimes even same day if it processes early morning. Way faster than my old bank that took 3-4 days!

•Oh that's really good to know! Today's already the second business day since it changed to processed so hopefully I'll see it today. I'll keep checking my app.

I've been on unemployment for 4 months now and use Chime. In my experience, TWC deposits hit around 9-10am, usually the day after it shows as processed. But there have been times it takes 2 days. The good thing with Chime is they release the funds immediately when they receive them, unlike traditional banks that sometimes hold deposits. Make sure your account number was entered correctly on your TWC profile. If this is your first payment, double check that.

•Thank you! I triple-checked my account info when I set up direct deposit, but good reminder. I'll watch for it tomorrow morning around that time.

•That's not always accurate. It depends on what time the TWC payment file is sent to the Treasury and when Treasury processes the ACH transfer. While Chime does make funds available as soon as they receive them, there's still the ACH transfer window to consider.

I HATE waiting for TWC payments!!! Been on unemployment since January and the stress is UNREAL every time. I don't have Chime but with my credit union it takes 3-4 business days from "processed" status. The whole system is designed to make us suffer!!

•3-4 days seems like forever when you're waiting for money. I'm hoping Chime is faster like others are saying here.

When I was on unemployment last year I used Chime and it was usually there by the next morning after showing processed. If you requested payment on Sunday/Monday it would usually show up by Tuesday/Wednesday. Way better than my old Wells Fargo account.

•Wells Fargo is THE WORST with unemployment deposits! They held mine for 5 days once - I nearly got evicted!!

If you're worried about your TWC payment timing and need to talk to someone at TWC to confirm the deposit status, I'd recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in a similar situation waiting for my first payment and couldn't get through on the TWC phone lines. Claimyr got me connected to an actual TWC agent in about 20 minutes who confirmed exactly when my deposit would hit. Saved me days of anxiety! They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh

•Thanks for the tip! If my payment doesn't show up by tomorrow, I might try this. Getting through to TWC on the phone has been impossible.

To give you the most accurate information: TWC typically processes payments within 2-3 business days after your payment request. Once the status shows as "processed" in the TWC system, it means the payment has been sent to the Treasury, which then initiates an ACH transfer to your bank. With Chime specifically, you'll typically see the deposit within 1-2 business days after the "processed" status appears, as Chime releases funds as soon as the pending deposit notification is received (unlike traditional banks that may hold funds until the official settlement date). One important thing to note - if this is your first payment, it sometimes takes an extra day as the system verifies your banking details. If you don't see the deposit by the third business day after it shows as processed, I would recommend contacting TWC to ensure there are no issues with your direct deposit information.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! That makes sense about the first payment possibly taking longer. Today is the second business day since it showed processed, so I'll give it until tomorrow afternoon before I start to worry.

one time my payment said processed but didnt come for a week cuz there was a holiday

•That's a good point about holidays. Federal holidays do affect ACH transfers, which is what TWC uses for direct deposits. There aren't any holidays this week though, so OP's deposit should follow the normal timeline.

UPDATE: My payment just hit my Chime account! It was exactly 2 business days after it showed as processed. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance. Such a relief to finally have some funds.

•Great news! Now you know what to expect for future payments. Glad it worked out!

Congrats on getting your payment! For future reference, I've found that Chime is pretty consistent with TWC deposits - usually 1-2 business days after "processed" status like you experienced. Just a heads up though, make sure to keep an eye on your payment request dates going forward. I learned the hard way that if you miss your bi-weekly request window, it can delay everything by a week or more. The TWC system can be finicky but once you get into a routine it gets easier to predict the timing.

•Thanks for the tip about the bi-weekly request window! I'm still figuring out all the TWC timing rules. Good to know Chime is consistent - that definitely gives me peace of mind for future payments. The whole unemployment system is overwhelming when you're new to it, but this community has been so helpful.

I've been using Chime with TWC for about 6 months now and the timing is pretty reliable. What I've noticed is that TWC usually processes payments in batches - if yours changed to "processed" yesterday, you'll most likely see it hit your Chime account today or tomorrow morning. Chime is great because they don't hold ACH deposits like bigger banks do. One thing that helped me with the anxiety of waiting was setting up Chime's notifications so I get an alert the moment any deposit comes in. That way I'm not constantly checking my balance. Hope it comes through soon for you!

•That's really helpful about setting up the Chime notifications! I didn't even think about that - constantly checking my balance is definitely adding to my stress. I'll turn those on right now. It's reassuring to hear from someone who's been through this process for months and knows the patterns. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Just wanted to chime in (no pun intended!) as another Chime user who gets TWC payments. The timing is usually pretty predictable - I've been getting unemployment since last fall and it's almost always 1-2 business days after the status changes to processed, just like others have said. What really helped me manage the stress was keeping a little calendar where I track when I request payment, when it processes, and when it hits my account. After a few cycles you'll see the pattern and it becomes way less anxiety-inducing. Also, if you're ever in a real pinch waiting for the deposit, some people have had luck with Chime's SpotMe feature to cover small expenses, though I know that's not available to everyone. Hang in there - the first few payments are always the most stressful but it gets easier!

•That's such a smart idea about keeping a calendar to track the payment cycle! I'm definitely going to start doing that - it would help so much with the anxiety of not knowing what to expect. I've heard about SpotMe but haven't looked into it yet. Even just having a small buffer would be helpful while waiting for deposits. Thanks for the encouragement that it gets easier after the first few payments. This whole process is so stressful when you're already dealing with unemployment stress!

I've been using Chime for TWC deposits for about 8 months now, and the timing has been really consistent. Usually see the money hit my account within 24-48 hours after it shows "processed" on the TWC site. The nice thing about Chime is they post deposits as soon as they receive them - no waiting until the next business day like traditional banks. One tip that helped me: if you log into your Chime app and go to "Move Money" then "Direct Deposit," it'll show any pending deposits that are on their way but haven't posted yet. Sometimes I can see my TWC payment there even before it actually hits my available balance. Takes some of the guesswork out of it!

•That's such a useful tip about checking the "Direct Deposit" section in the Chime app! I had no idea you could see pending deposits there before they actually post. I'm going to check that right now - it would be so nice to at least know the payment is on its way even if it hasn't hit my balance yet. Thanks for sharing that! It's amazing how these little features can make such a big difference when you're anxiously waiting for unemployment funds.

I've been dealing with TWC and Chime for unemployment for the past few months, and I can confirm what others are saying about the 1-2 business day timing. One thing I learned that might help with your anxiety - you can actually call your local TWC office (not the main hotline) and sometimes get through faster to verify your payment was sent correctly. The main 800 number is always swamped, but the local offices sometimes have shorter wait times. Also, since this is your first payment, don't panic if it takes the full 2-3 business days - there's usually a bit more verification that happens with the initial deposit. But based on everyone's experience here with Chime, you should hopefully see it soon! The waiting game is definitely the worst part of this whole process.

•That's a really good tip about trying the local TWC offices instead of the main hotline! I didn't know that was even an option. I've been dreading having to call if my payment doesn't show up because I've heard the wait times on the main number are brutal. Do you happen to know how to find the local office numbers? And you're right about the waiting being the worst part - especially when you're already stressed about finances. It's helpful to hear that the first payment sometimes takes a bit longer for verification. Makes me feel less worried that something went wrong!

•You can find your local TWC office numbers by going to the TWC website and using their office locator tool - just enter your zip code and it'll show you the nearest locations with their direct phone numbers. I've had much better luck calling them directly, especially in the mornings right when they open. The local staff can usually see the same payment information and confirm if there are any issues with your deposit. Since you mentioned this is your first payment, they can also double-check that your direct deposit info was entered correctly in the system, which is one of the most common reasons for delays on initial payments.

I've been getting TWC payments through Chime for about a year now and can share what I've learned about the timing. Generally, once your payment shows "processed" on the TWC website, Chime receives and posts the deposit within 1-2 business days - sometimes even the same day if TWC processes it early in the morning. The key advantage with Chime is they don't hold ACH deposits like traditional banks do, so you get your money as soon as they receive it from the state. Since this is your first payment, there might be an extra day for verification, but you should definitely see it by tomorrow or the next day. One thing that helped reduce my anxiety was downloading the Chime app notifications so I get an alert the instant any deposit comes in. That way I'm not constantly checking my balance! Hang in there - the first payment is always the most nerve-wracking, but once you see the pattern it gets much easier.

•This is really reassuring to hear from someone who's been through this for a whole year! I definitely think I'll set up those Chime notifications - seems like everyone is recommending that. It's good to know that even with first payment verification, it shouldn't take more than an extra day or two. I'm trying to stay patient but when rent is due soon it's hard not to stress. Thanks for the encouragement that it gets easier once you know the pattern!

Been using Chime with TWC for about 5 months now and wanted to add my experience. The timing is usually very predictable - 1-2 business days after "processed" status like everyone else mentioned. But here's something I haven't seen mentioned yet: if you have the Chime mobile app, you can enable push notifications specifically for deposits. Go to Settings > Notifications > Account Activity and turn on "Money In" notifications. This way you'll get an instant alert the moment your TWC payment hits, instead of obsessively checking your balance every few minutes like I used to do! Also, Chime usually processes incoming ACH transfers in the early morning hours (around 6-8am in my experience), so if you don't see it by mid-morning, it'll likely come the next business day. The wait is definitely stressful but Chime has been the most reliable bank I've used for unemployment deposits.

•This is super helpful! I just turned on those "Money In" notifications in my Chime app - can't believe I didn't know about that feature before. The early morning processing time is good to know too, so I won't be frantically checking my phone at midnight expecting it to be there. It's really comforting to hear from so many people who've had good experiences with Chime and TWC deposits. Makes me feel like I chose the right bank for this situation at least!
