TWC payment delayed to Chime account - anyone else waiting past 5pm?

Getting a little worried here! I usually have my TWC unemployment payment hit my Chime account by 5pm CST on my deposit date (which is today, the 30th). It's now past 7pm and still nothing. My payment status shows 'processed' on the TWC website, but nothing in my bank account yet. Is anyone else experiencing delays today? I've got bills scheduled to auto-pay tomorrow and I'm starting to panic a little. Is there some kind of system delay or holiday processing thing I don't know about?

Thanks for letting me know! That gives me some hope. Did you do anything special to make it go through or it just randomly showed up?

This happens occasionally with TWC deposits. There are several factors that can cause delays: 1. High volume processing days (especially around month-end) 2. System maintenance at TWC or at Chime 3. Your payment request processing time As long as your TWC account shows the payment as 'processed', your money is on the way. Chime typically posts deposits as soon as they receive them, but there can be delays in the ACH transfer between TWC and Chime. If you don't see it by morning, call TWC to verify nothing is wrong with your claim.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! That makes sense. My TWC account does show 'processed' so I'll try to be patient. If it's not there by 9am tomorrow I'll try calling them.

I've used Chime for 2 years w/ my unemployment and sometimes they're just weird with the timing. One time it came at like 11pm!

MY PAYMENT IS LATE TOO!!!! I've been getting TWC payments for 4 months now and they ALWAYS come between 2-4pm to my regular bank account. It's now 8:30pm and NOTHING!!! I'm freaking out because my rent is due tomorrow and I can't be late again or I'll get evicted. WHY doesn't TWC warn people when there will be delays??? This is so stressful!

breathe... its probably just a glitch in their system. happened to me last month too but it showed up overnight.

I hope you're right... I'm just so tired of living paycheck to paycheck and then having the payments be unpredictable on top of it all. Thanks for the reassurance.

If you need to reach a TWC agent about your payment delay, I'd recommend using Claimyr. I was in a similar situation last month where my payment was delayed and I couldn't get through on the regular phone line. Claimyr connected me to a TWC agent in about 18 minutes instead of spending days trying to get through. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh The agent was able to tell me exactly what caused the delay and when to expect my payment.

Thanks for the tip! I've never heard of this service before. I'll definitely check it out if my payment isn't in by morning. The TWC phone line is always a nightmare to get through.

This happens every few months with TWC deposits. The system gets backlogged, especially around the end of the month when more people have payment request dates. The important thing is checking that your payment status shows as 'processed' on the TWC portal. If it does, then your money is in the transfer process and should be available within 24 hours. If you're really concerned, you can check if there are any reported system outages on the TWC website. They sometimes post notices about payment processing delays, though they're not always great about updating this information.

this happened to me last month and my payment showed up overnight while i was sleeping. twc does batch processing and sometimes the later batches get delayed. i bet it'll be there in the morning.

Thank you! That's reassuring to hear. I'll check first thing when I wake up.

Has anyone else noticed that TWC seems to have more delays near the end of each month? I wonder if it's because that's when more people have their payment request dates set. Mine is always the 30th and I feel like every couple months there's some kind of delay.

You're absolutely right. TWC processes more payment requests at month-end, which can create processing backlogs. If possible, consider switching your payment request day to mid-month (like the 15th) which might result in more consistent deposit timing. You can change this by calling TWC or sometimes through your online account settings.

I didn't know you could change it! That's super helpful, thank you. I'll look into switching to mid-month.

I'm glad to see your payment came through! This is actually a pretty common issue with TWC payments, especially to Chime accounts. I've been getting unemployment for about 6 months now and I've noticed that Chime sometimes has delays with ACH transfers, particularly on busy processing days. The good news is that once TWC shows "processed" on their end, the money is definitely coming - it's just a matter of when the banks finish their back-and-forth. For future reference, I've found that payments tend to be more reliable earlier in the week (Tuesday-Thursday) compared to Fridays or Mondays when there's more banking traffic.

Thank you for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to know about the timing patterns. I'm definitely going to keep that in mind for future payments. It's such a relief when the money finally shows up, but those few hours of worry are brutal when you have bills due. I appreciate everyone in this community sharing their experiences - it really helps to know you're not alone when these delays happen.
