TWC payment timing with Chime - how soon after first payment request?
Finally got through my approval process for Texas unemployment after waiting SIX long weeks! I submitted my first payment request today at 6:34 AM and I'm wondering about the timing now. I use Chime banking which advertises getting direct deposits up to 2 days early. Has anyone with Chime received TWC benefits before? How quickly did the money show up after your payment request was processed? I'm trying to plan for bills and groceries this week. Thanks for any insight!

•Thanks for the quick reply! Wednesday would be amazing if it happens that fast. Do they ever process payments on weekends or is it strictly business days?

The TWC payment processing typically follows this schedule: 1. Payment request submitted 2. TWC processes request (usually takes 1-2 business days) 3. Payment is released to your bank 4. Bank posts the deposit With Chime's early deposit feature, you might see the funds 1-2 days earlier than traditional banks once TWC releases the payment. However, TWC still needs those 1-2 business days for processing on their end first. So realistically, expect 2-4 days total from your payment request submission, depending on weekends and holidays.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I'm relieved to hear it shouldn't be too long of a wait. After 6 weeks of nothing, even 2-4 days feels manageable.

I got approved last month and I also bank with Chime. My payment always hits exactly 3 days after request. so predictable i could set my watch to it lol. TWC has been pretty reliable for me so far.

I HATE to be that person but don't get your hopes up too much!! My first payment took 8 days even though I have Chime!! The first one sometimes takes longer because they double check everything. After that first one though, it's been 2-3 days like clockwork. Just don't want you to panic if it's not super fast this first time!!

•Oh no, I hope that doesn't happen! I'm already cutting it close with bills. Did they give you any explanation for why the first one was delayed?

•Nope, just TWC being TWC. When I called they just said first payments sometimes take additional processing time. The system has to fully confirm everything or something. But seriously EVERY payment since then has been quick!

I've been on TWC benefits twice in the past three years, and I've noticed that payment timing can also depend on what day of the week you submit your payment request. Requests submitted Monday-Wednesday tend to process faster than those submitted Thursday or Friday. This is because TWC's system needs business days to process, and weekend days don't count toward processing time. With Chime, you'll definitely get it faster than traditional banks once TWC releases it, but TWC still needs those processing days on their end first.

I was in the same boat as you last month - waited FOREVER for approval then was desperate for that first payment! I couldn't get through to TWC to ask about payment timing, so I tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to a TWC agent in about 15 minutes. The agent confirmed my payment was already processing and gave me the exact release date. Saved me a ton of stress! There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. Worth it just to get definite answers instead of guessing when money will arrive.

•I'll check out that site if my payment doesn't show up in the next few days. The TWC phone lines have been impossible - I got disconnected three times yesterday!

UPDATE: My payment just hit my Chime account!! It took exactly 3 days from request to deposit. I'm so relieved! Thanks everyone for the info and support. For anyone else wondering about timing with Chime: Monday morning request → Thursday morning deposit. And yes, it looks like the 2-day early deposit feature with Chime actually did make a difference!

•Great news! Just as a reminder, make sure you're documenting your 3 required work search activities each week. Your next payment request will require you to certify that you've completed them.
