TWC waiting week payment timing - submitted online but request days don't align
I've been on unemployment for a month now and finally got to the waiting week payment request yesterday. I submitted it online through the TWC portal, but my regular payment request day is Monday (I've been requesting every other Monday). Does this mean I won't actually receive the waiting week payment until next week? Or do waiting week payments process differently? I'm trying to budget for upcoming bills and need to know when to expect this money. My regular UI benefits have been coming through about 2-3 days after I submit the request.

The waiting week payment timing depends on when you submitted it relative to your regular request schedule. Since you submitted it outside your normal request day (Monday), it will likely process on a different timeline than your regular payments. In my experience, TWC typically processes these within 3-5 business days of submission, regardless of your regular schedule. It might actually arrive before your next regular payment.

•Thanks for the info! So there's a chance I could see it by the end of this week then? That would be helpful. Do you know if it shows up as pending in the payment status section before it hits my account?

The WHOLE waiting week system is ridiculous!! I had to wait 7 business days for mine and then it was only HALF of my regular benefit amount! No explanation, no warning, just half the money I was expecting. Called TWC 43 TIMES before getting through only to be told "that's just how the waiting week works" 🤬

•Actually, the waiting week is always paid at 50% of your regular weekly benefit amount - this is stated in the TWC handbook and on their website. It's not a system error, it's by design. And yes, it usually takes longer to process than regular payments because it's handled differently in their system.

When I had trouble getting information about my waiting week payment last month, I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to TWC immediately instead of waiting on hold for hours. They have this video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. The agent I spoke with explained that waiting week payments typically process 3-4 business days after submission, regardless of your regular request day. They were able to confirm exactly when mine would arrive, which really helped with planning my finances.

•Does that service actually work? I've been trying to get through to TWC for a week about my ID.me verification issue.

•Absolutely - I was skeptical too but it connected me to a TWC rep in under 10 minutes. Totally worth it when you need answers quickly, especially for time-sensitive issues like payment timing.

To clarify about the waiting week payment process: 1. The waiting week is paid after you've received benefits for at least three weeks 2. It's always 50% of your weekly benefit amount (not your full benefit) 3. Processing time is typically 3-5 business days from submission 4. It processes independently from your regular biweekly request schedule 5. You can check its status in your payment summary on the TWC portal Since you submitted it yesterday, you'll likely see the payment hit your account by the end of this week or early next week. The system doesn't always show it as pending in the payment status section until it's actually processed.

•Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I checked my TWC portal and saw it listed in my payment summary now, showing it's scheduled to deposit tomorrow. That's a relief!

•That's a good reminder! I've been keeping detailed records of my work search activities. I'm doing 4 per week even though they only require 3, just to be safe.

Just wanted to update everyone - I received my waiting week payment this morning! It took exactly 3 business days from when I submitted it online (submitted Tuesday, received Friday). The amount was indeed 50% of my regular weekly benefit as others mentioned. For anyone else waiting on theirs, it showed up in my payment history section about 12 hours before it actually hit my bank account, so keep checking the TWC portal for updates. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - it really helped me know what to expect!

•That's great news and thanks for the update! It's really helpful to know the exact timeline - 3 business days is pretty reasonable. I'm still waiting on mine (submitted Wednesday) so hopefully I'll see it early next week. Good to know about checking the payment history section too, I'll keep an eye on that.

I'm still waiting on my waiting week payment too - submitted mine on Thursday so hoping to see it by Tuesday or Wednesday based on everyone's experiences here. It's reassuring to hear that most people are getting theirs within 3-5 business days. I've been checking my TWC portal obsessively but nothing in payment history yet. The 50% amount is disappointing but at least it's something! Has anyone noticed if the payment comes through faster or slower depending on which bank you use?

•I haven't noticed any difference based on bank type personally, but I've seen some people mention that credit unions sometimes process ACH deposits a bit faster than big banks. What I've found helpful is setting up notifications in my banking app so I get alerted as soon as any deposit hits. Since you submitted Thursday, you're probably looking at Monday/Tuesday based on the 3-5 day timeline everyone's been sharing. The waiting part is definitely the most stressful - hang in there!

I'm in a similar situation - submitted my waiting week payment request on Tuesday and still checking the portal constantly! Reading through everyone's experiences here is really reassuring. It sounds like 3-5 business days is pretty standard regardless of your regular request schedule. I was worried since my normal request day is Friday that it might delay things, but it seems like the waiting week processes on its own timeline. The 50% amount is definitely a bummer but better than nothing while job searching. Thanks to everyone sharing their timelines - it really helps with the anxiety of waiting!

•I totally understand that constant portal checking - I did the same thing! Since you submitted Tuesday, you should hopefully see it show up in your payment history by tomorrow or Monday at the latest based on what others have shared. The fact that it processes independently from your regular Friday schedule is actually good news since you don't have to wait for your normal request day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us still waiting - this whole process is stressful enough without the uncertainty about timing!

I went through this exact same situation last month! Since you submitted outside your regular Monday request day, the waiting week payment will process on its own schedule - usually 3-4 business days regardless of when your normal payments are due. Mine took exactly 4 days and showed up in my payment history about a day before hitting my bank account. Just keep checking the TWC portal daily, and remember it'll only be 50% of your regular weekly benefit amount. The good news is you don't have to wait until your next Monday request to receive it!

•That's really helpful to know, thanks for sharing your experience! I'm glad to hear it processes independently - I was worried I'd have to wait until Monday. Since I submitted yesterday, it sounds like I should see it by early next week then. It's reassuring to know about the payment history showing it before it hits the bank account too, gives me something specific to watch for. The 50% amount is what I expected after reading everyone's comments here, so at least there won't be any surprises there!

I just went through this same situation a few weeks ago! The waiting week payment definitely processes on its own timeline, separate from your regular biweekly request schedule. Even though you normally request on Mondays, submitting the waiting week request yesterday means it should process within 3-5 business days from submission - so you're looking at sometime between today and early next week. In my case, it took 4 days and I could see it listed in my payment summary on the TWC portal about 24 hours before it actually deposited. Just remember it'll be 50% of your weekly benefit amount, not the full amount. Hope this helps with your budgeting!

•Thanks for the detailed timeline! That's exactly what I needed to hear. Since I submitted yesterday, it sounds like I should see it in my payment summary by this weekend and in my account by early next week at the latest. The 4-day timeline you mentioned gives me a realistic expectation to work with. I've already factored the 50% amount into my budget after reading all the comments here, so no surprises there. Really appreciate you sharing your experience - it definitely helps with planning!

I went through this exact same situation about 6 weeks ago! The waiting week payment processes completely independently from your regular request schedule, so don't worry about the Monday timing. When I submitted mine on a Thursday (my regular day was Tuesday), it still processed within the standard 3-4 business days. You should see it appear in your payment summary on the TWC portal first, then it'll hit your bank account about 1-2 days later. Since you submitted yesterday, you're probably looking at seeing it by early next week. Just remember it's only 50% of your regular weekly benefit amount, but hey - every bit helps when you're budgeting tight! Keep checking that portal daily, and you'll see the status update before the money actually arrives.

•Thanks for sharing that timeline! It's really reassuring to hear from someone who went through the exact same situation. The fact that it processed within 3-4 days even when you submitted on a different day than your regular schedule gives me hope. I'll definitely keep checking the portal daily - sounds like that's the best way to track progress. The 50% amount is what I expected after reading through all these comments, so at least I can budget accordingly. Really appreciate everyone in this community sharing their experiences - it makes this whole process so much less stressful when you know what to expect!

I was in a very similar situation a couple months back! Submitted my waiting week request on a Wednesday when my regular request day was Friday. It processed in exactly 3 business days and showed up in my payment history about 18 hours before hitting my bank account. The key thing to remember is that waiting week payments run on their own processing schedule completely separate from your regular biweekly requests. Since you submitted yesterday, you should see it appear in your TWC portal payment summary by Monday or Tuesday, then in your bank account 1-2 days after that. Keep checking that portal daily - once it shows up there, you'll know the deposit is coming soon. And yes, it'll be 50% of your regular benefit amount as others have mentioned. The timing actually worked out better for me than waiting until my regular request day would have!

•That's super helpful to know it processed faster than your regular request day would have allowed! I'm feeling much more optimistic now about the timing. Since I submitted yesterday, it sounds like I should see it in the portal by Monday/Tuesday based on your 3-day experience. The 18-hour window between showing up in payment history and actually depositing is good to know too - gives me a heads up on when to expect the actual money. I've been checking the portal obsessively since submitting, so I'll definitely catch it as soon as it appears. Thanks for sharing such detailed timing info - it really helps with the anxiety of not knowing when to expect it!

•This is exactly the kind of detailed timeline I was hoping to hear! The 4-day processing window and the fact that it shows up in the portal about 20 hours before depositing gives me a really clear picture of what to expect. Since I submitted yesterday, Monday/Tuesday for portal appearance and Wednesday/Thursday for actual deposit sounds very reasonable. I'm actually relieved that I don't have to wait until my next Monday request - that would have been another week of uncertainty! I'll definitely keep checking the portal daily. Thanks for taking the time to share such specific details about your experience - it really helps ease the stress of not knowing when this payment will come through.

I had almost the exact same situation happen to me about 3 weeks ago! Submitted my waiting week request on a Thursday when my regular request day is Tuesday. The key thing to remember is that waiting week payments process completely independently from your regular biweekly schedule - so don't worry about the Monday timing mismatch. Mine took exactly 3 business days to process and showed up in my payment history section of the TWC portal about 12 hours before it actually deposited into my bank account. Since you submitted yesterday, you should see it appear in your portal by Monday or Tuesday, then hit your account 1-2 days after that. Just keep in mind it will only be 50% of your regular weekly benefit amount. I actually found it helpful to check the portal twice daily during those few days - once in the morning and once in the evening - so I could catch the status update as soon as it appeared. Hope this helps with your budgeting timeline!

•This is really reassuring to hear from someone with such a similar timeline! The 3-day processing window you experienced gives me a lot of hope since I submitted yesterday too. I like your strategy of checking the portal twice daily - I'll definitely start doing that to catch the update as soon as it appears. Knowing it'll show up in payment history about 12 hours before depositing is super helpful for planning when I can actually count on having the money available. The 50% amount is what I expected after reading everyone's experiences here, so no surprises there. Thanks for the detailed breakdown - it's exactly what I needed to hear to feel more confident about the timing!

I'm currently in the exact same boat - submitted my waiting week request yesterday and my regular request day is also Monday! Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful. It sounds like the consensus is pretty clear that waiting week payments process on their own 3-5 business day timeline, completely separate from our regular request schedules. I'm feeling much more optimistic now knowing I don't have to wait until next Monday. I'll be checking my TWC portal religiously over the next few days based on all the advice here about watching for it to appear in payment history first. The 50% amount is disappointing but expected after reading all these comments. Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines - it really takes the guesswork out of budgeting when you have realistic expectations!

•It's so helpful to see someone else in the exact same situation! I was getting anxious about the timing mismatch too, but all these detailed experiences really put things in perspective. The 3-5 day independent processing timeline seems pretty consistent across everyone's stories. I'm planning to follow the advice about checking the portal twice daily - seems like that's the best way to stay on top of when it updates. At least we know what to expect with the 50% amount now thanks to everyone's transparency here. Hopefully we'll both see our payments show up in the portal early next week! This community has been such a lifesaver for understanding the actual process versus just wondering and worrying.

I'm going through this exact same situation right now! Just submitted my waiting week request today and my regular request day is also Monday. After reading through everyone's experiences here, I feel so much better about the timeline. It sounds like the waiting week payment processes completely independently from our regular biweekly schedule, so I won't have to wait until next Monday after all. Based on what everyone's shared, I should see it appear in my TWC portal payment history within 3-5 business days, then hit my bank account 1-2 days after that. The 50% benefit amount is what I expected after reading all these comments. I'm definitely going to follow the advice about checking the portal twice daily to catch the update as soon as it appears. Thanks to everyone who shared such detailed timelines - it really helps ease the stress of not knowing when to expect this payment, especially when you're trying to budget for upcoming bills!
