When will 2025 PA UC 1099-G tax forms be available? Can't find mine yet

I need to start working on my taxes soon and I'm looking for my 1099-G form from unemployment. I collected PA UC benefits for about 4 months last year and need to report this income. I've logged into my dashboard but can't find the tax form anywhere. Does anyone know when these usually become available? Is there a specific place I need to look on the PA UC website to download it? This is my first time filing taxes after receiving unemployment benefits so I'm not sure how this works.

PA UC typically makes 1099-G forms available by January 31st each year. You should be able to find it by logging into your dashboard at www.uc.pa.gov, then going to "My Benefits Plan" and looking for the section labeled "Tax Forms" or "1099-G Information". If it's not there yet, just keep checking back - they sometimes release them in batches. Also, make sure you're actually looking in the right year. The 1099-G will be for the tax year you received benefits, not the current year.

Thanks! I'll keep checking my dashboard through the end of January. Do they also mail physical copies, or is it only available electronically now?

Good to know! I'll wait a bit longer then before panicking. I really need to get my taxes done early this year.

THEY ARE ALWAYS LATE WITH EVERYTHING!!! Last year they didn't upload my 1099G until February 4th even though its REQUIRED BY LAW to have them by Jan 31!!! Then when I called to complain I got hung up on TWICE before someone actually helped me. The PA UC system is completely broken, everything is always delayed. Don't expect them to follow any rules or deadlines!!

While the system definitely has issues, most people do get their 1099-Gs on time. They're required to make them available by January 31st, but that's the deadline - not all forms go out at the same time. They process millions of these forms, so they work in batches. If you don't see yours by February 1st, then it's worth making a call.

Wait... do we need a 1099 form if we only got UC for like 6 weeks? I completely forgot about this and already filed my taxes last week. Now I'm worried I messed up.

Yes, you need to report all unemployment compensation on your taxes, even if it was only for a short period. You should file an amended return once you get your 1099-G to avoid potential penalties. Unemployment benefits are taxable income.

I've been trying to get through to someone at PA UC about this exact issue for days now. Nothing but busy signals and disconnections when I call. I need my 1099-G to finish my taxes and their phone system is completely useless. Has anyone found a way to actually speak to a human there?

I was in the same boat last week and found a service called Claimyr that got me through to a PA UC agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days trying. They basically call for you and when they get through, they connect you with the agent. I watched their demo video (https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2) and decided to try it from their website claimyr.com - was actually able to confirm my 1099-G would be ready by the 30th. Way better than getting busy signals for days!

For anyone looking for their 1099-G form in Pennsylvania, here's what you need to know: 1. They should be available by January 31st by law 2. You access them online through your UC dashboard under "Tax Forms" 3. You can request a paper copy if needed by calling 888-313-7284 4. If you don't receive your form by February 5th, contact UC 5. Remember that all unemployment benefits are taxable income 6. Your 1099-G will show the total benefits paid and any federal taxes withheld It's important to wait until you have this form before filing your taxes to ensure accuracy. The IRS automatically gets a copy, so the amounts need to match what you report.

This is really helpful thx! One question tho - if I had taxes withheld from my weekly payments, will that show up on the 1099 too? I opted to have 10% taken out each week but I'm not sure if that means I still owe taxes or not.

Yes, your 1099-G will show both the total benefits you received and any federal taxes that were withheld. Having 10% withheld is helpful but depending on your overall tax situation, you might still owe additional taxes or be due a refund. The withholding is just an estimate, like the withholding from a regular paycheck.

UPDATE: I just checked my account again today and my 1099-G is now available! For anyone else looking, I found it under the "View Tax Form 1099G" option after logging into my dashboard. It shows the total benefits paid and the tax withholding amount. Thanks everyone for your help!
