When will PA UC send 1099-G tax forms for 2025? Haven't received mine yet

Hey everyone, I'm stressing out a bit about filing my taxes. I received unemployment benefits for part of last year and need to include that income on my tax return. Aren't they supposed to mail the 1099-G forms by the end of January? It's already February 10th and I haven't gotten anything in the mail. My tax appointment is in two weeks and I'm worried I won't have everything ready. Does anyone know when PA typically sends these out? Is there a way to access the form online if the mail is delayed? This is my first time dealing with unemployment taxes so I'm not sure what to expect.

They're required by law to have them postmarked by January 31st, but PA UC is notorious for being late with these. You can actually download your 1099-G online through your UC dashboard. Just log in to your account, go to the 'More Services' section, and look for the '1099-G Tax Form' option. If you can't find it there, you can also call the UC service center, but good luck getting through this time of year when everyone's trying to do their taxes.

If you're having trouble reaching PA UC on the phone, you might want to try Claimyr. It's a service that helps you get through to an actual unemployment agent without waiting for hours. I was in the same boat last year - needed my 1099-G and couldn't get through on the phone. Used Claimyr and was connected to an agent in about 15 minutes who was able to help me get access to my tax forms. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Their website is claimyr.com if you want to check it out. Made things so much easier during tax season.

No, the 1099-G is a separate tax form that summarizes all unemployment compensation you received in the previous tax year. You need this form to properly report unemployment income on your federal and state tax returns. It's similar to a W-2 from an employer, but specifically for unemployment benefits.

I was in the same boat last year, waiting and waiting for the mail. Now I just go straight to the website around January 20th and download it. One tip: make sure you save/print it right away when you find it online. Sometimes the system will time out or log you out, and then you have to start the whole process over again.\n\nAlso, if you claimed benefits in previous years too, all your old 1099-Gs should still be available in the system. I was able to download my 2023 and 2024 forms when I needed them for a mortgage application.

That's so helpful, thank you! I actually might need previous years too, so that's good to know they keep them in the system. Do you happen to remember the exact path to find them? Like which menus/links to click after logging in? I get so confused with their website layout.

anyone know if we need to report covid money from 2020 still? i got some extra $600 payments back then

That's completely unrelated to the current tax year (2025). The $600 Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) payments from 2020 should have been reported on your 2020 tax return, which would have been filed in 2021. You don't need to report those on your current tax return.

Just as a followup - if anyone still hasn't received their 1099-G by February 15th, and can't access it online for some reason, you can also call the special tax form hotline at 1-888-313-7284. It's often less busy than the regular UC number, though still expect some wait time. When prompted by the automated system, choose the option for \
