Do PA UC W-2 forms get mailed automatically or do I need to request them?

You're looking for a 1099-G form, not a W-2. Unemployment benefits aren't considered wages (which use W-2s), they're considered income that gets reported on a 1099-G form. PA UC doesn't mail these anymore - you need to access it through your dashboard on the PA UC website. Login to your account, go to the dashboard and look for a section related to 1099-G or tax documents. You should be able to download and print it from there.

Just to be more specific for anyone else who needs this info - it's a 1099-G form specifically. And you need to log into your UC account, go to the dashboard, and look for the 1099-G tax form option in the menu. This has been electronic-only since 2020 (they stopped mailing paper copies to save costs).

I ran into this EXACT same problem last year!!! So frustrating that they don't explain this better when you're on unemployment. PA unemployment issues 1099-G forms, not W-2s. And they don't mail them anymore - it's all electronic now. You have to login to your dashboard and download it. If you can't find it or can't access your account, you need to call them. GOOD LUCK getting through though, the phone lines are ALWAYS busy.

If u cant find it online call them. I had to request mine becuz of some glitch in there system last year. But yeah its 1099G not W2.
