When will PA UC 1099-G tax forms be available online for 2025?
Hey everyone, I'm wondering when the 1099-G tax forms will be available in our PA UC dashboard this year? I need to file my taxes soon and I'm still waiting for this form to show up online. Last year I remember getting it around mid-January, but it's already January 23rd and nothing yet. Has anyone been able to access their 1099 form for unemployment benefits received in 2024? Or does anyone know the official release date for these forms? Thanks!

According to PA UC, 1099-G tax forms for 2024 benefits will be available by January 31, 2025. They're required by law to make them available by that date. You can access yours when available by logging into your dashboard, clicking on "Tax Information" and then "1099-G Forms". They should also mail a paper copy if you didn't opt for electronic delivery only. If you don't see it by February 5th, then you should contact them as there might be an issue with your account.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I'll definitely wait until the 31st before panicking. I did opt for electronic delivery, so hopefully it'll just show up in my dashboard.

UGGGGH I hate tax season with PA UC!! Last year my 1099 had the WRONG AMOUNT on it and it took me 3 months to get it fixed!!! I'm dreading checking mine when it finally shows up. The whole system is such a mess.

•This happened to me too. If your 1099-G shows an incorrect amount, you need to file a dispute immediately. Call the UC service center and specifically request a 1099-G correction. Make sure you have documentation showing the actual benefits you received to back up your claim.

•Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely going to double check everything this year. Just hoping I can actually get through to someone if there's a problem again.

I just checked my account and my 1099-G is actually available now! Maybe they're releasing them in batches? Try checking your account again. Just logged into my dashboard, went to the "More Services" menu, then "Tax Information" and there it was.

If anyone needs to contact PA UC about their 1099-G forms and can't get through on the phone lines, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). They helped me get through to an agent in about 15 minutes when I had issues with my 1099-G last year. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 It's especially useful during tax season when everyone is calling about their forms and you can't get through the normal way. Just make sure you have your claim information ready when you do get through to an agent.

•Thanks for the tip! If mine doesn't show up by the 31st, I might try this. Did you find the agents were able to resolve your 1099 issues quickly once you got through?

•Yes, once I got through to an actual person, they were able to check my account and tell me exactly what was happening with my 1099-G. In my case, there was a system flag on my account that needed to be cleared. Took the agent about 5 minutes to fix once I explained the issue.

anybody know if we have to report the severance pay on taxes seperate from the uc benefits? my company laid me off in november and i got 3 weeks severance plus started uc

•Yes, severance pay is reported separately from UC benefits. Your employer should provide a W-2 that includes your severance pay. The 1099-G from PA UC will only show your unemployment benefits. Make sure you report both when filing your taxes.

UPDATE: My 1099-G just appeared today (Jan 26th)! For anyone still waiting, definitely check your account. Looks like they are indeed releasing them in batches before the 31st deadline.
