NY unemployment payment missing for week of 8/8 - system glitch not paying benefits
Has anyone else not received their NY unemployment payment from last week because of some 'glitch' in the system? I certified as usual, but my payment for the week ending 8/8 never showed up in my account. I just certified again this week and that payment is already showing in the system, but it completely skipped the previous week! Nothing for 8/8 at all. I called the NYSDOL number at least 15 times but can't get through to anyone. Is this happening to others? Do I need to do something special to get that missing week's payment?

Yes! This happened to me too. There was definitely some kind of system issue last week. My payment for 8/8 never processed, but this week's went through fine. I spoke with a rep yesterday who confirmed there was a processing delay affecting "thousands of claims" and they're working to fix it. They said all missed payments should be released within 3-5 business days and we don't need to recertify. Just keep checking your payment history screen.

Thank you for confirming! Did they say we need to file any kind of complaint or request for the missing payment, or will it just automatically show up? I'm so relieved it's not just me having this problem.

According to the NYSDOL update posted on their Twitter account last Friday, they identified a processing error that affected approximately 17% of payment distributions for the certification week ending 8/8. They've stated clearly that affected claimants DO NOT need to take any action - the system will automatically reprocess these claims and issue payments. The status update indicates full resolution by end of this week.

I'm in the same boat!!! My payment for 8/8 is just GONE and the website shows nothing about it. I have rent due and was counting on that money. Has anyone actually received their missing payment yet? I'm starting to think they're hoping we just forget about it and they save some money. This is beyond frustrating.

After trying the main unemployment number for TWO DAYS with no luck, I finally got through to someone who could help using Claimyr.com. It's a service that gets you past the phone queue - they call and wait on hold, then connect you when a rep answers. The video showed exactly how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE The agent I spoke with confirmed the glitch and said my missing payment was already being processed and should appear within 48 hours. She added it to my claim notes that I called about it too. Definitely worth it to actually talk to someone instead of just wondering what's happening.

Once they connected me, I only talked to the rep for about 10 minutes. They had all the info about the glitch and could see my claim right away. Just got notification my payment is processing now!

OMG im so glad its not just me!!!!! i was freaking OUT thinking i did something wrong or they cut me off!!! mine for 8/8 is missing too but this weeks showed up fine

You definitely didn't do anything wrong. The system just had a major hiccup that week. Keep an eye on your payment history - they're supposedly fixing it in batches and many people have started seeing their payments come through yesterday and today.

my cousin works for nysdol and said they had a big system crash last week. something about the certification processing system. theyre fixing it but its taking time to get everyone their money

Here's the official update from NYSDOL about this issue: 1. The payment processing system experienced a technical failure during the batch processing of payments for week ending 8/8/2025 2. Approximately 86,000 claimants were affected 3. All affected payments are being reprocessed automatically 4. The reprocessing began on 8/15 and will continue through 8/19 5. Claimants do NOT need to recertify or take any action 6. The system is now fixed and all current/future payments should process normally If you don't see your payment by 8/20, then you should contact them directly. Their system shows which accounts were affected by the glitch, so they can verify and expedite if needed.

It's on their Twitter account (@NYSLabor) and also if you log in to your account and look at the Messages section, there should be a system notification about it. They don't always put these announcements on the main website unfortunately.
