NY unemployment payment missing for August 8th week - anyone else not getting paid?
Is anyone else missing their NY unemployment payment that should have been deposited for the week ending 8/8/2025? This is driving me insane. I've been certifying regularly and getting paid on time until now. I've tried calling the NYSDOL office literally 23 times today and can't get through to a human being - just endless hold music or disconnections. My benefits are supposed to continue until 10/15/2025, but I'm starting to panic because I've heard about people whose benefits were suddenly cut off without explanation. What's really frustrating is my roommate's benefits temporarily stopped in May but they fixed it for him within a week. Has the payment system glitched? Is anyone else experiencing this?

•That's exactly what mine says too - just 'pending'! Have you been able to get through to anyone on the phone? I'm seriously about to miss my rent payment if this doesn't get fixed.

I got my payment for 8/8 just fine, direct deposited yesterday morning like usual. Maybe check if you certified correctly? Sometimes if you make a mistake on your weekly certification they put a hold on it.

•I triple-checked my certification and I'm positive I did everything right. Been certifying the same way for months without problems. I wonder if it's affecting some people but not others? So frustrating!

This happens occasionally when NYSDOL runs system updates or has to process a large volume of claims at once. Typically payments delayed like this will process within 3-5 business days without you needing to do anything. However, if by Friday you still don't see the payment processed, there might be an issue specific to your claim that requires agent intervention. You can check your payment history under 'View Payment History' in your online account. If you see any messages there about 'pending review' or 'additional information needed,' that would explain the delay. One other thing to check - did you report any income on your last certification? Even small amounts can trigger a manual review.

•Thanks for this info! I checked my payment history and there's no message besides 'pending' - no mention of review or needing more info. And no, I didn't report any income on my last certification. I guess I'll wait until Friday before totally panicking, but it's hard not to worry when you're counting on that money.

THEY DO THIS ON PURPOSE!!! I've had this happen THREE TIMES in the past year. The system isn't 'glitching' - they're deliberately delaying payments to save money hoping people will just give up. Last time they held my payment for TWO WEEKS without explanation and when I finally got through they said it was a 'random audit' but couldn't explain what they were auditing!!! The whole system is BROKEN!!!!

•While I understand your frustration, there's no evidence NYSDOL deliberately delays payments. System issues occur in any large organization. Based on my experience working with government benefit systems (though not NYSDOL specifically), most delays are due to automated flags in the system or technical issues rather than deliberate attempts to withhold benefits. Random audits are actually quite common and required by federal regulations to prevent fraud.

I had the exact same issue last month. My payment was stuck on pending for 9 days! I was going crazy trying to get through on the phone lines but could never reach anyone. What finally worked was I reached out to my state assemblyperson's office. They have special contacts at NYSDOL and they got it fixed within 48 hours after I contacted them. Might be worth a try if you still can't get through by Friday.

•That's a great tip about contacting the state assemblyperson! I never would have thought of that. I'll definitely do that if it's not fixed by Friday. Thanks!

After struggling with a similar issue last month, I finally got through to an actual agent using Claimyr. It's a service that basically calls NYSDOL for you and gets you in the phone queue without you having to keep redialing. They called me back when they had an agent on the line. Saved me hours of frustration. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE In my case, there was a verification flag on my account that the agent cleared right away. The pending payment was processed the next day. Much better than waiting weeks hoping it resolves itself.

•I've never heard of this service before! Did it actually work? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point rather than keep calling and getting nowhere.

•Yes, it really worked for me. I was skeptical too but after three days of trying to call on my own and never getting through, I was desperate. They had an agent on the phone within about an hour. Definitely worth it for peace of mind, especially if you need the money for bills. The agent I spoke with said there was just a simple verification flag that wouldn't have resolved without someone manually clearing it.

Has anyone who was missing their 8/8 payment received it yet? Just curious if the system is starting to catch up or if people are still having issues. This would help the OP know if it's a widespread temporary glitch or something they need to address individually.

UPDATE: My payment finally processed! It took 4 days but it's now showing as 'paid' in my payment history. For anyone else experiencing this issue, I ended up using the Claimyr service mentioned above and got through to an agent in about 45 minutes (after trying for days on my own with no success). The agent told me there was a system delay affecting a batch of claims from the 8/8 certification week, and they had to manually push mine through. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

•Glad to hear it worked out for you! It's always good practice to keep documentation of these issues - screenshot your payment history showing the delay, save any correspondence, etc. This creates a paper trail if you have similar issues in the future. The system batch delay explanation makes sense - that's a common issue that happens a few times a year, unfortunately.

•SEE? They had to MANUALLY fix it - it wasn't going to resolve itself! This is exactly what happened to me. The system is totally broken.

Just wanted to jump in here as someone who's been dealing with NY unemployment for almost a year now. I had a similar delay back in June - my payment was stuck on pending for 6 days and I was absolutely panicking. Like others mentioned, the phone system is basically useless unless you have hours to burn on hold. What I learned is that these batch processing delays happen more often than they should, usually when they're doing system maintenance or updates. The frustrating part is they never announce these delays ahead of time. I'm glad to see yours got resolved @Ravi! For anyone else dealing with this, definitely try the Claimyr service or contact your assemblyperson if waiting it out doesn't work. And always screenshot everything - I keep a folder of all my payment confirmations and certification records just in case.

•This is really helpful to know! I'm new to unemployment benefits and had no idea these batch delays were a regular thing. It's crazy that they don't give any heads up when this stuff happens - would save everyone so much stress and panic. I'm definitely going to start keeping screenshots like you suggested. Thanks for sharing your experience!
