If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I'm in the same boat right now except I'm dealing with a former employer who's contesting my claim. THREE HOURS on hold yesterday and then the call dropped. This is America in 2025 - can't even get basic services working right. Makes me want to move to Canada honestly.

Canada's unemployment system has its own problems. My sister lives in Toronto and says their system is just as backlogged.

Just checking in - were you able to try any of the suggestions? The early morning call trick works about 40% of the time in my experience.

I tried the 7:58am call yesterday and today - no luck yet. I'm going to try the Claimyr service tomorrow if I still can't get through. I did find and submit that UI-501R form and converted all my documents to JPEGs for the ID.me verification. Fingers crossed something works soon. Really appreciate everyone's help!

Sounds like you're taking all the right steps! The UI-501R form usually takes 7-10 business days to process, so don't worry if you don't hear anything immediately. Keep us posted on how things work out.

The whole thing is RIDICULOUS!! We shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops to get benefits we paid into with our taxes!!! All this paperwork and waiting and appealing while bills are piling up. The system is designed to make us give up!!!

I want to thank everyone for the amazing advice. I've decided to do the following: 1. Create a detailed timeline of my job search from November to January 2. Gather all my job application confirmations and interview emails 3. Write a clear statement explaining why I misunderstood when to apply 4. Request a hearing specifically in my appeal 5. Try calling again tomorrow to speak with a representative 6. If I can't get through after a couple more tries, I'll check out that Claimyr service I'll update this thread once I have news about my appeal. Fingers crossed I can get those backdated benefits!

That sounds like a solid plan! One last tip: when writing your statement, focus on facts rather than emotions. Include dates, specific actions you took, and concrete examples. Good luck, and yes, please update us on how it goes!

Good luck! Your plan sounds really thorough. The timeline especially helped in my case.

Yes! I finally got through to someone on the phone yesterday! They confirmed my claim is under review because of the voluntary quit, but said now that I've submitted the questionnaire and uploaded my medical documentation, it should be processed within 10 business days. The agent also put a note on my account to expedite the review. So relieved to finally have some clarity! Thank you everyone for your help.

That's great news! Be sure to continue certifying weekly while you wait for the determination. If approved, you'll receive backpay for all properly certified weeks. If you have any issues with the backpay not showing up after approval, that's a separate issue you may need to address.

One more thing about school employment and partial unemployment: make sure you're calculating your hours correctly. For teachers and some staff, NYS unemployment sometimes calculates based on your contract hours, not just in-classroom time. Also, if you're paid on a 10-month schedule but it's spread across 12 months, that can affect your benefit calculation. And yes, absolutely call your employer directly about that form. Many don't realize how time-sensitive these are for employees waiting on benefits.

This is good advice. I work as a substitute teacher and found out I was calculating my hours all wrong. I was only counting classroom time but should have been including prep periods too.

After I got through to NYSDOL using that service I mentioned, the agent told me something important: they sometimes send verification forms even when they aren't strictly necessary for your specific situation. It's part of their fraud prevention, but if your employer is consistently reporting your wages through their quarterly process, you might be able to ask NYSDOL to process your payment while waiting for the verification. Worth asking about if you can get through to someone!

I finally got through to NYSDOL this morning! You were right - they said my payment should process by next Tuesday even if they haven't received the form back yet. Such a relief! Thanks for all the help everyone.

Just to set realistic expectations - while the Senate/Assembly route is effective, keep in mind that if there's a complex issue with your claim, even the legislative offices can't always get it resolved immediately. Common issues like ID verification, employer disputes, or out-of-state wage investigations might still take additional time even after the initial contact. \n\nThat said, the benefit of going through your representatives is that you'll actually get a human being who can explain what's happening and give you a realistic timeframe, which is far better than endless pending status with no explanation.

That makes sense. I just need someone to tell me what's going on! My claim is pretty straightforward - I was laid off after 3 years at the same company, and they've confirmed they don't dispute my claim. So hopefully once I get through to someone they can resolve it quickly.
