Locked out of NYDOL system while setting up direct deposit - Help!
I'm having trouble setting up my direct deposit for unemployment benefits. I tried logging in multiple times but got locked out of the system. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what to do next?

Ugh, been there done that. The NYDOL system is a nightmare sometimes. Have you tried waiting a few hours and then logging back in? Sometimes it resets itself.

•Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot. How long did you have to wait before you could log back in?

•For me it was about 3-4 hours. But I've heard others say it took up to 24 hours. Hang in there!

•24 hours?! That's ridiculous. The system needs a serious upgrade 🤦♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I'm skeptical. Why should we have to pay to talk to someone about our benefits?

•I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me hours of frustration. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

•They don't guarantee it, but in my experience it worked great. You pay, they start calling, and when they get a real person, your phone rings. Simple as that.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Write down the exact error message you're getting 2. Gather all your personal info (SSN, claim ID, etc.) 3. Try logging in from a different device or browser 4. If that doesn't work, wait at least 24 hours before trying again 5. If you're still locked out, you'll need to call them directly Pro tip: Call right when they open in the morning. You're more likely to get through.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I'll definitely try a different browser first.

•Solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every attempt. It might come in handy later.

Have you tried reaching out to them on Twitter? Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot!

•This actually worked for me once! Their social media team seems more responsive than their phone lines lol

Oof, direct deposit issues are the WORST. I had a similar problem last year. Turns out my bank account number was off by one digit. Double-check all your info if you get back in!

•Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I'll definitely triple-check everything once I can log in again. Thanks!

Not to be that guy, but have you tried turning it off and on again? 😂 Jk jk, but seriously, sometimes clearing your browser cache can help with login issues.

I swear, dealing with NYDOL is like playing whack-a-mole. Fix one problem, another pops up. Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same leaky boat 🚣♀️
