DETR silent for 2+ months after filing claim, can't certify. What to do?

I filed my unemployment claim over two months ago and still haven't heard anything back. It's been radio silence - no letters, no updates, nothing. To make matters worse, I can't even certify for weeks anymore. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do? I'm at my wits' end here.

I found a way to solve unemployment claim delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec9KkhL5KJU

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Filed in June and it's crickets. Can't even get through on the phone. This system is a joke 🤡

Yep, welcome to the club. I've been waiting since May. It's like they're playing hide and seek with our claims 🙄

Have you tried emailing them? I heard sometimes that works better than calling

Email? Lol might as well send a carrier pigeon 🕊️ But seriously, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the tip!

Listen up, I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Email AND call. Be persistent but polite. 3. Reach out to your local state representative. Sometimes they can light a fire under DETR. 4. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 5. If you can, try to visit an office in person. It's a pain, but face-to-face can work wonders. Don't give up. The system is overwhelmed, but you'll get through eventually. Hang in there!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start implementing these steps. Quick question - do you have any tips for what to say when I finally get through to someone?

0 coins

Sure thing! When you get through, be clear and concise. Explain your situation briefly, mention the date you filed, and ask specifically about the status of your claim and why you can't certify. Don't be afraid to ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help. Good luck!

guys i found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. heres a video about it: https://youtu.be/joPqgg0bRFw

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

$20? That's steep. Why should we have to pay to get basic service? 😤

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. Worth every penny imho

How long did you have to wait once they called you back?

0 coins

It took about 2 hours total, but I just went about my day and they called when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

have you checked your online account? sometimes there updated info there that they dont tell u about

0 coins

This is ridiculous. We need to organize and demand better service. Who's with me? 💪

I'm in! What do you propose? Protest? Petition? I'm so fed up with this broken system

0 coins

Let's start with a petition and flood their social media. If that doesn't work, we escalate. Who knows how to make a Change.org petition?

Friendly reminder to everyone: don't forget to check if you qualify for other assistance programs while you're waiting. Food banks, rental assistance, etc. Every little bit helps!

This! 👆 211 is a great resource for finding local help. Don't be too proud to use these services - that's what they're there for!

Plot twist: what if DETR is actually run by a bunch of sloths? 🦥 Would explain a lot tbh

Nah, sloths would be an improvement. At least they move eventually 😂
