PA UC: No response after 4 weeks - How to check claim status or speed up process?

I filed my unemployment claim 4 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. No updates, no payments, nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm starting to get worried and don't know if I need to provide more information or just keep waiting. Any advice on how to speed up the process or at least find out what's going on with my claim?

I found a way to solve unemployment claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZ8yeedF4_o

yall ever think about how much easier this would be if we had universal basic income? just sayin šŸ‘€

Oof, careful. That's how you start a political flame war in here lol

Preach! šŸ™Œ But can you imagine the wait times if the govt had to process that for everyone? We'd be waiting years!

0 coins

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help move things along.

I did this! It actually helped. Took about a week, but my rep's office got back to me and things started moving.

That's a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

0 coins

$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken 😤

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. Worth every penny imho.

I tried Claimyr too, and it was successful for me. However, $20 is a steep price. Maybe if they offered a discount for multiple uses, it could be more appealing.

Day 547 of waiting for my unemployment benefits: I've grown a beard, learned three languages, and started a small vegetable garden. Still no word from EDD. Send help.

this is the quality content i come here for 🤣

Careful, if EDD finds out about your vegetable garden they might count it as income!

The wait is ridiculous, but kudos on making the best of it!

Plot twist: what if the EDD is actually run by a bunch of sloths? 🦄 That would explain the speed of processing...

0 coins

Omar Zaki

•

Hey now, don't insult sloths like that. They're way more efficient!

0 coins

LMAO 🤣 I'm picturing a sloth slowly stamping 'DENIED' on everyone's applications

0 coins

Sloths are adorable though! Maybe they add a bit of humor to the stressful wait.

0 coins

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just camp outside the EDD office until they process our claims. Who's with me? ⛺

I'll bring the s'mores! šŸ”„šŸ«

Knowing our luck, they'd probably make us fill out camping permit applications... and then lose them šŸ™„

And if it rains, we could flood the office with our tears of frustration.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research. Hopefully it helps: • The standard processing time is supposed to be 2-3 weeks, but with the current backlog, 4-6 weeks is more common. • Make sure you've certified for benefits each week, even if you haven't received an initial response. • Double-check your online account to ensure all information is correct and complete. • If there's an issue with your claim, they should send you a notice. Check your mail carefully. • Sometimes claims get stuck in the system for no apparent reason. That's when calling becomes necessary. • If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. Some people have had luck with Twitter. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

Thank you so much for this detailed info! I'll double-check everything and keep trying.

This should be pinned to the top of the subreddit. So helpful!

I've found that even after doing everything right, the backlog can still delay things. Staying informed and proactive really makes a difference.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat, 5 weeks and counting. It's like they're using carrier pigeons to process our claims or something 🐦

0 coins

Carrier pigeons would probably be faster at this point lol

ikr? Maybe we should start a pigeon delivery service. Might be more reliable than EDD šŸ˜‚

have u checked ur spam folder? sometimes important emails end up there

Emails from EDD actually ended up in my spam once. It's definitely worth a look!

Guys, I had a dream last night that my claim was approved. Woke up so disappointed 😭 This waiting game is messing with my head!

Oof, that's rough buddy. Hang in there!

Plot twist: what if we're all in a collective nightmare and EDD doesn't actually exist? 🤯

hot take: what if we all just stopped trying to claim benefits? bet theyd notice us then 😤

Yeah, and then we'd all be broke AND unemployed. Great plan šŸ‘

Lmao imagine if we all just decided to be rich instead. Problem solved!

It can be incredibly frustrating waiting for unemployment benefits, especially when there seems to be no clear communication from the EDD. While patience is important, there are steps you can take to potentially expedite the process. Firstly, make sure all your claim information is up-to-date and accurate. Errors can lead to further delays. Using services like Claimyr can be advantageous as they provide a quicker connection to EDD representatives, although it comes with a cost. However, always ensure you use such services with caution and verify their legitimacy. Besides, contacting your local representative, as some have suggested, can indeed be beneficial in expediting the process. In parallel, consider using social media platforms to raise your issue; sometimes public attention can prompt faster responses from the system. Finally, continue certifying your benefits each week and keep an eye on your spam folder for any misdirected communications. Your persistence combined with these strategies could help resolve the waiting game eventually.

Has anyone tried the EDD mobile app? Is it any better than the website?

0 coins

Wait, there's an app??? How did I not know this?

used it once. crashed my phone. never again. 0/10 would not recommend

Remember to document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You never know when you might need that info.

Keeping track of all communications has saved me in disputes before.

Anyone else notice how the EDD website always seems to be 'under maintenance' when you actually need to use it? šŸ™„

0 coins

Its like they time it perfectly to be down whenever im free to check šŸ˜‘

Maybe they're using Internet Explorer to run their systems šŸ’€

It's such bad timing! I've had to schedule around their maintenance just to check status.

Have you tried calling them? I know it's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've tried calling multiple times but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and be ready to dial. It's still a gamble, but your odds are better.
