DEO payment timeline? Claimed weeks yesterday but no direct deposit yet
I finally got through all the hoops to claim my weeks with DEO yesterday morning (what a nightmare that CONNECT system is!) and selected direct deposit as my payment method. My claim status shows as 'processed,' but I haven't seen any money hit my account yet. This is my first time on Florida unemployment and I'm getting nervous because rent is due Friday. How long does it typically take for DEO to actually deposit the funds after claiming weeks? Is there a set schedule or is it different for everyone? Should I be worried that something went wrong?

For first-time claims with direct deposit, it usually takes 2-3 business days after the 'processed' status shows up. If you claimed yesterday, I'd expect to see it tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. The first payment often takes a bit longer than subsequent ones. After your first deposit, payments typically arrive within 24-48 hours of claiming if there are no issues with your claim.

•Thank you! That's a relief. I was getting worried since I need this money for rent. Do payments ever show up on weekends or is it just business days?

DONT EXPECT IT ANYTIME SOON!!!! I claimed my weeks 8 days ago and STILL NOTHING! Called DEO like 50 times and cant get through to a real person. The system is completely BROKEN and they don't care at all about us. Good luck getting your $$ before your rent is due!

Direct deposit timing varies based on several factors: 1. First-time claims take longer (usually 3-5 business days) 2. Your bank's processing time affects when you see the deposit 3. If you claimed after 8:00 PM, it counts as the next business day 4. Holidays and weekends don't count as processing days Also, check your CONNECT inbox for any fact-finding notices or pending issues. Those will delay payment until resolved. The DEO won't directly tell you if there's a problem - you have to check your account regularly.

I know exactly what your going through! I was freaking out my first time 2. The website says it can take up to 3 days but mine came in like 36 hours. It helped that I check my claim status on CONNECT and made sure it said "processed" not "pending" because those are different things. As long as it says processed you should be good to go soon!

•Yes, it definitely says 'processed' when I log in. I've been checking like every hour hoping to see the deposit! Thanks for the reassurance - I'm hoping it comes tomorrow.

If you're having trouble getting through to DEO about your payments (which happens to almost everyone), I'd recommend using Claimyr. It got me through to an actual agent in under 20 minutes after I spent days trying on my own. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj and their website is claimyr.com. I was skeptical but it actually worked when I needed to fix a payment issue that was holding up my deposit for weeks.

•Does that actually work?? I've been trying to talk to someone at DEO for over a week and just get disconnected EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

One more thing to consider - make sure you've entered your direct deposit information correctly in CONNECT. If there's any error in your routing or account number, it can cause delays or the payment might be returned to DEO. If that happens, they'll eventually send you a Way2Go debit card instead, but that takes even longer.

•I triple-checked those numbers when I entered them, so hopefully that's not the issue. Would DEO notify me if there was a problem with the direct deposit info? Or would I just be left wondering where my money is?

To answer your weekend question from earlier - DEO processes payments on business days only, but depending on your bank, funds can sometimes appear in your account on weekends. For most banks though, if a payment is sent Friday afternoon, you probably won't see it until Monday morning.

•Wait how did you claim two weeks at the same time? I thought the CONNECT system only lets you claim every two weeks? Did you have backpay weeks or something? I'm confused...

Update: The money just hit my account! It was exactly 2 business days after claiming, like some of you mentioned. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance - this whole unemployment process has been so stressful and confusing.

•Great news! Glad it worked out as expected. Now you'll have a better idea of timing for your future claims. Just remember the schedule could shift slightly from week to week, so always give it at least 3 business days before worrying.

Awesome to hear you got your payment! That's such a relief when you're stressed about rent. For future reference, I've found that DEO payments usually hit my account between 6-8 AM on the day they're deposited, so if you don't see it first thing in the morning it's probably not coming that day. Also, keep an eye on your CONNECT account for any upcoming required certifications or work search requirements - missing those can delay future payments even if everything else is processed correctly.

•Thanks for that tip about the 6-8 AM timing! I was refreshing my bank app all day yesterday wondering when it would show up. Good to know about the work search requirements too - I haven't gotten any notifications about that yet but I'll definitely keep checking my CONNECT account regularly so I don't miss anything important.

Glad to hear you got your payment! Just wanted to add that you should also set up text notifications in your CONNECT account if you haven't already. DEO will send you alerts when your claim status changes or if there are any issues that need attention. It's really helpful to catch problems early before they delay your payments. Also, since this was your first time, make sure to save your claim confirmation numbers each time you certify - sometimes the system glitches and having those numbers can help if you need to call DEO about missing payments.

•That's really good advice about the text notifications and saving confirmation numbers! I didn't know about the text alerts - I'll definitely set those up today. And yeah, I should probably screenshot or write down those confirmation numbers just in case. The CONNECT system seems pretty unreliable based on what everyone's saying here, so having backup documentation sounds smart. Thanks for the tips!

Just wanted to chime in as someone who's been dealing with DEO for a while now - you're definitely not alone in being stressed about the timing! The 2-3 business day window is pretty accurate for most people, but I've noticed it can vary based on when exactly you submit your claim. If you claimed early in the morning, you're more likely to get paid faster than if you claimed later in the day. Also, once you get into a regular rhythm with claiming every two weeks, the payments tend to become more predictable. Keep checking your CONNECT account for any alerts or required actions - sometimes they'll ask for additional documentation that can hold up payments if you don't respond quickly. Hang in there!

•This is such helpful advice! I'm still pretty new to all this and it's reassuring to hear from someone with experience. I did claim pretty early yesterday morning (around 8 AM) so maybe that helped with the timing. I'll definitely make sure to stay on top of checking CONNECT regularly - sounds like missing any required actions could really mess things up. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, it really helps ease the anxiety about this whole process!

As someone who went through this exact same anxiety a few months ago, I totally understand the stress! The 2-3 business day timeline is pretty accurate for most people. One thing that really helped me was downloading my bank's mobile app and turning on push notifications for deposits - that way I knew the moment the money hit instead of constantly refreshing my account. Also, if you're still worried about future payments, I'd recommend claiming your weeks as early as possible on your designated day (like right when CONNECT opens at 6 AM) since it seems to help with processing speed. The first payment is always the most nerve-wracking, but it gets much more predictable after that!

•That's such great advice about setting up push notifications! I wish I had thought of that earlier - would have saved me from obsessively checking my account every hour. The tip about claiming right at 6 AM is really smart too. I claimed around 8 AM yesterday and got my payment in 2 days, so I can only imagine claiming even earlier might speed things up. You're absolutely right about the first payment being the most stressful - now that I know what to expect, I feel so much more confident about the whole process. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm so glad to see your update that you got your payment! As someone who just started collecting unemployment myself, this whole thread has been incredibly helpful. The 2-3 business day timeline seems to be pretty consistent based on everyone's experiences here. I'm definitely going to follow the advice about setting up text notifications and claiming early in the morning - those are great tips I wouldn't have thought of. It's reassuring to know there's such a supportive community here since navigating the DEO system can be so overwhelming. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and advice!

•Welcome to the community! I'm glad this thread was helpful for you too. When I first started dealing with DEO, I felt so lost and anxious about everything, but having people share their real experiences here makes such a difference. The waiting for that first payment is definitely the worst part - once you get through it, the whole process becomes much more manageable. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you run into any issues with your claims. Everyone here has been through the same struggles with the CONNECT system!

Just wanted to add my experience for anyone else who might be reading this thread - I've been on Florida unemployment for about 6 months now and the timing has become pretty predictable for me. I always claim on Monday mornings right when CONNECT opens at 6 AM, and my payments consistently hit my account on Wednesday mornings between 7-8 AM. The key things that helped me avoid delays were: 1) Making sure my direct deposit info was 100% correct, 2) Responding immediately to any fact-finding requests or required documents, and 3) keeping up with work search requirements even when they're not strictly enforced. For new claimants, that first payment anxiety is totally normal - we've all been there! Once you get into the routine, it becomes much less stressful.

•This is exactly the kind of detailed timeline I needed to see! Your Monday-to-Wednesday schedule sounds so much more predictable than what I was expecting. I'm definitely going to try claiming at 6 AM sharp next time - seems like that early timing really makes a difference. The tip about responding immediately to any DEO requests is super important too. I haven't gotten any fact-finding notices yet but I'll make sure to check my CONNECT account daily so I don't miss anything. Thanks for sharing your 6-month experience - it's really reassuring to know the process becomes routine once you get the hang of it!

I'm so relieved to see your update that you got your payment! I just filed my first claim last week and have been absolutely panicking about the timing. Reading through all these experiences has been incredibly helpful - especially learning about the 6 AM claiming strategy and setting up those push notifications. It's amazing how much variation there seems to be in payment timing even though most people get theirs within that 2-3 business day window. I'm definitely bookmarking this thread for future reference. Thanks everyone for sharing your real experiences with DEO - it makes navigating this confusing system so much less scary when you know what to actually expect!

Reading through everyone's experiences here has been so eye-opening! I'm dealing with DEO for the first time myself and had no idea about things like the 6 AM claiming window or how much your bank's processing time can affect when you actually see the money. It's crazy how the official DEO website gives you basically no useful timeline info, but this community thread has all the real details you actually need. I'm saving all these tips about text notifications, confirmation numbers, and watching for fact-finding requests. Thanks to everyone who took the time to share their experiences - it makes such a difference when you're trying to navigate this mess of a system!
