DEO payment showing 'issued' but not in my bank account yet - normal wait time?
Just saw that DEO finally issued my first unemployment payment today after 3 weeks of waiting! I have direct deposit set up with my Chase account, but nothing's showing up yet. How long does it usually take between DEO marking a payment as 'issued' and the money actually hitting your bank account? This is my first time on unemployment and I'm down to my last $47 so really hoping it comes through fast. The CONNECT portal shows the status as 'issued' with today's date, but no pending transactions in my bank account yet. Normal?

Congrats on getting approved! Mine usually takes 1-2 business days to show up in my Wells Fargo account after it says 'issued' in CONNECT. Sometimes it shows as pending in my account first thing in the morning and posts later that day. If it was issued today, I'd expect it tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. Don't panic if it doesn't show immediately - the first payment always seems to take the longest for some reason.

•Thank you! That's reassuring. I'll try to be patient until Thursday before I start worrying too much.

•That's fast! Hopefully Chase is similar. Did you get an email notification or did you just check your account and see it was there?

The timeframe depends on your bank's processing schedule. DEO typically releases payments within 24-48 hours after showing as 'issued' in CONNECT, but then your bank needs to process it. First payments sometimes take slightly longer due to verification processes. If you don't see it by Friday, you might want to contact DEO to verify the banking information they have on file is correct - a single digit wrong in your account number could mean the payment is being rejected and returned to DEO. Also, double-check your CONNECT account to make sure the direct deposit information is accurate. Some people have had issues where their payment method accidentally reverted to the Way2Go debit card even though they selected direct deposit.

•I double-checked my banking info and it's correct - last 4 digits match my account. Good point about it possibly taking longer for first payments though, that makes sense.

•That doesn't sound right. Have you been able to get through to DEO to check on it? Something might be wrong with your direct deposit info.

If it's been marked as issued today, you probably won't see it until tomorrow at the earliest. The banking system operates on business days, and ACH transfers typically take 1-3 business days to complete. Also worth noting - if this is your very first payment, sometimes there's an extra verification step that can add a day. Check your CONNECT account again tomorrow morning, and you should see it move from 'issued' to 'processed.' Once it says 'processed,' it's definitely on the way. If you don't see the money by Friday, I'd recommend trying to reach a DEO agent to confirm your banking details are correct in their system. I spent weeks trying to get through on the regular phone line before I found Claimyr (claimyr.com). They got me connected to a DEO agent in under an hour when I was dealing with missing payments. Their video shows how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. Saved me from having my electricity shut off while waiting for my benefits.

•Thanks for the detailed info. I'll definitely wait until Friday before panicking. And thanks for the Claimyr tip - I might check that out if I can't get through to DEO normally.

this happened to me last month. my payment said issued but the money went to a way2go card that i never activated or even knew about!!! i thought i had direct deposit set up but somehow it got changed in the system. check if you have a way2go card section in your connect account. if u do they might have sent it there instead of your bank.

•Oh no, I hope that's not what happened! I'll check my CONNECT account again to see if there's anything about a Way2Go card. Thanks for the heads up.

Mine hit my account this morning! It said issued in CONNECT yesterday afternoon, so less than 24 hours for me with SunTrust/Truist. Hoping yours comes through just as fast. That first unemployment payment is such a relief.

•That's great to hear! I checked this morning and still nothing yet, but hopefully tomorrow. You're right - I'll breathe much easier once it actually shows up.

Just a heads up, make sure you keep doing your work searches while waiting! I got so focused on my payment issues I forgot to log my 5 work searches one week and got disqualified for that week. Don't make my mistake!

•Good reminder! I've been keeping up with the work searches but it's easy to get distracted with payment stress. I've been taking screenshots of all my applications too just in case.

As an update to my earlier comment - I just checked the DEO website and they're reporting a processing delay for direct deposits initiated today. They're saying to allow up to 3 business days for these specific payments to reach bank accounts. This might explain why you're not seeing it yet.

•Where did you see that notice? I don't see anything about delays on the main page.

•It's in the Claimant Notices section after you log in to CONNECT. Not everyone gets the same notices, so you might not see it if your payment was processed in a different batch.

Same situation here! My payment showed as issued this morning and I'm with Chase too. Based on what everyone's saying, it sounds like we should see it by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. I've been checking my account obsessively but trying to remember that the banking system just takes time. The stress is real when you're down to your last few dollars though - I totally get it. Fingers crossed both our payments come through soon!

•Yes! It's so nerve-wracking checking your account every hour when you're in that situation. I'm glad I'm not the only one going through this exact scenario with Chase. It sounds like most people are seeing their payments within 1-2 business days, so I'm trying to stay optimistic. Thanks for the support - it really helps to know others understand the stress of waiting when every dollar counts!

I'm in the exact same boat! My payment showed as "issued" this morning and I also bank with Chase. Reading through everyone's experiences here is really reassuring - it sounds like 1-2 business days is pretty typical. I've been refreshing my banking app way too much today but I'm going to try to be patient until Thursday like others suggested. The waiting is so stressful when you're running low on funds, but it's good to know this timing seems normal for first payments. Thanks for posting this question - all the responses are super helpful for those of us going through this for the first time!

I'm in a very similar situation! My payment just showed as "issued" this morning and I also have Chase. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful - it sounds like 1-2 business days is pretty typical, especially for first unemployment payments. I was starting to get anxious when I didn't see anything pending yet, but it seems like that's completely normal. The financial stress while waiting is definitely real when you're running on fumes! I'm going to try to be patient until Thursday like others suggested before I start worrying. Thanks so much for posting this question - all these responses are giving me (and clearly others in the same boat) so much peace of mind about the timing!

•I'm dealing with the exact same thing! My payment showed "issued" yesterday and I'm also with Chase. It's so reassuring to see so many people going through this identical situation. The 1-2 business day timeline everyone's mentioning gives me hope - I was worried something was wrong when nothing appeared immediately. The anxiety of checking your account constantly when you're financially stressed is so relatable. Fingers crossed we all see our payments hit our accounts soon! This thread has been a lifesaver for managing expectations.
