DEO issued direct deposit payment missing for 3 weeks - not in my bank account
I'm seriously frustrated right now! According to my CONNECT account, DEO supposedly issued my first unemployment payment on January 15, 2025 via direct deposit. It's been THREE WEEKS and the money has never shown up in my bank account. I've triple-checked my routing and account numbers in the system and everything is correct. I've been surviving on savings but I'm getting desperate. Has anyone experienced a phantom "payment issued" status that never actually deposits? Could it be because my claim had been in adjudication for so long before being approved? I've tried calling DEO about 50 times but just get the usual "all representatives are busy" message before getting disconnected. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

•Did your money eventually show up? I'm going crazy checking my account every few hours!

This is actually pretty common with first payments. There are a few things to check: 1. Verify the account info is 100% correct in CONNECT (sounds like you did this) 2. Check if your bank might have rejected the deposit - some banks flag large unexpected deposits 3. Look at your payment history in CONNECT and see if the status says "Direct Deposit" or if it switched to "Way2Go Card" If it switched to Way2Go, the system automatically redirects to the debit card if there's any issue with direct deposit. They don't notify you when this happens! You'd need to call Way2Go to see if they issued you a card: 833-888-2775.

•Thank you! Just checked and it still says "Direct Deposit" but I'll call my bank tomorrow to see if they rejected it. Would DEO notify me if the deposit failed or would it just look like this limbo state I'm in?

I had a nightmare with my first payment too!! Called DEO for WEEKS with no answer. Finally got through using Claimyr (claimyr.com) - they connect you to a real DEO agent without the endless busy signals. Turns out my payment was sent to the wrong account because of a typo I didn't catch. The agent fixed it and reissued my payment in 48 hours. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj - definitely worth it when you're dealing with missing money!

•Normally I'd agree, but after 3 weeks of getting nowhere I was desperate. Spent more than that on gas driving to the CareerSource office twice with no help. Sometimes you gotta pay to save your sanity.

CONNECT SYSTEM IS GARBAGE!!! They claimed they paid me for 6 WEEKS before I actually got any money!!! Had to file a complaint with my state rep before anything happened. The "payment issued" status means NOTHING - it just means they THINK they paid you. Keep records of EVERYTHING and don't trust a word their system says!!!

Sometimes the system marks payments as "issued" when they're actually still in processing. January 15th was a Monday after a long weekend, so there might have been a backlog. My husband's payments usually hit our account 4-5 business days after showing as "issued" in CONNECT, even though DEO claims it should be 1-2 days. Did you check if there were any holds or issues with your work search requirements? Sometimes they'll mark a payment as issued but then hold it for additional verification.

•That's interesting about the processing vs. issued status. My work search was all approved and there are no holds showing in my account. At this point I'm wondering if it's a glitch where the system thinks it paid me but never actually sent the ACH transfer. Just wish I could talk to an actual human at DEO!

I'd recommend checking your Determination Letters in CONNECT to see if there's any mention of payment issues. Also, the Monetary Status screen might show if there was a problem with the payment. If all else fails and you can't get through on the phone, try emailing FIRRE.CoreClaims@deo.myflorida.com with your claimant ID, the last 4 of your SSN, and a brief explanation of the issue. Put "URGENT: Payment Issued But Not Received" in the subject line. They sometimes respond within 3-5 business days.

•Thank you so much for the email suggestion! I just sent them a detailed message with all my info. Hopefully I'll hear something soon. This whole process has been so stressful.

•I just logged in again and it still shows "Direct Deposit" status. Nothing about Way2Go card. I'm going to call the Way2Go number tomorrow just to be sure though. Thanks for the suggestion!

This happened to me back in November. My payment was sent to my closed bank account even though I had updated my banking info. Check your Payment History screen and click on the payment details. Mine showed the last 4 digits of the account they sent it to. If that account is wrong or closed, the money will eventually bounce back to DEO (took about 10 days for me) and then they should reissue it, but you usually need to call and tell them.

•I just checked the payment details screen and it shows the correct last 4 digits of my current account. So frustrating! Did you ever get through to someone at DEO? If so, how??

•I called right at 7:29am when they open at 7:30. If you call exactly at opening, sometimes you can get in the queue before it fills up. Took me 3 mornings of trying but it eventually worked.

Just wanted to follow up - were you able to resolve this yet? Any luck with the email or phone calls?

•Actually yes! I finally got through using the Claimyr service someone mentioned above. It connected me to a DEO agent within 20 minutes. Turns out there was a weird system glitch where it marked my payment as issued but never actually processed the ACH transfer. The agent had to escalate to a supervisor who manually reissued the payment. Got the money in my account yesterday! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!
