DEO paid regular benefits but missing $600 federal - was getting it next day, now 3+ days nothing
So I finally got through the CONNECT system nightmare and claimed my weeks. DEO deposited my regular unemployment benefits to my account like normal (about $275 after taxes), but I'm still waiting on the $600 federal supplement that used to come the next day. It's been 3 days now and nothing. My bank account is getting dangerously low and I'm starting to panic a bit. Has anyone else noticed delays with the federal portion recently? Should I try calling DEO (even though that's basically impossible) or just keep waiting? Is there a separate system for the federal money that might be backed up?

Same thing happening to me! Got my regular state benefits on Tuesday but still no federal payment. Last month they came together, now suddenly they're separated and the federal part is MIA. I'm thinking they're backed up with processing the federal payments. I wouldn't panic yet - the $600 is coming from a different funding stream than your regular benefits.

•Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. How long are you planning to wait before trying to contact someone? I've got bills due next week that I was counting on that money for.

The federal supplement is administered separately from your regular DEO benefits, even though they usually process around the same time. There have been processing delays recently due to the new quarter verification procedures. If you don't receive the federal portion within 5 business days of your regular payment, then it's worth trying to contact DEO. Most people are seeing 2-4 day delays with the federal portion right now.

•Thanks for explaining this! I didn't realize there were new quarter verification procedures happening. I'll try to be patient for a couple more days.

I was in the exact same situation last week. Regular payment came through on Monday, but the federal part didn't hit until Friday! Nearly had a heart attack waiting but it did eventually show up. DEO is definitely processing them separately now and there seems to be a backlog with the federal payments. If you absolutely need to talk to someone at DEO (which I did because I was freaking out), I finally had success using Claimyr. It's a service that actually gets you through to a live DEO agent instead of getting busy signals or disconnected. Costs money but saved me days of frustration. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent I spoke with confirmed they're experiencing delays with the federal payments but that they are still being processed, just taking longer than usual.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO MAKE US GIVE UP!!!! I've been dealing with this garbage for 3 months now! Sometimes the federal comes right away, sometimes 3 days later, once it took 2 WEEKS with NO EXPLANATION!!! And good luck getting ANYONE on the phone to explain ANYTHING!!! The governor doesn't care if we can pay our bills as long as the unemployment numbers look good for his precious reports.

•2 WEEKS?? Oh my god, I can't wait that long. Did you ever figure out why it took so long that time?

•NOPE! That's the most frustrating part - no explanation, no notification, nothing! Just randomly showed up one day when I'd given up hope. The system is BROKEN BY DESIGN!!

wait this is weird cuz i thought the $600 federal benefit ended months ago?? aren't we supposed to be getting $300 now not $600??? or did they change it back and i missed something

•You're correct - the current federal supplement is $300 per week, not $600. The $600 supplement was during the earlier phase of the pandemic. OP might be confusing the amounts or referring to the total for two weeks ($300 x 2 = $600).

my neighbor works at our local CareerSource office and she says they've been getting tons of calls about this same issue. apparently DEO is doing some kind of system update that's slowing down the federal payments. she said everyone has been getting them eventually though.

UPDATE: My federal payment finally showed up this morning! 6 days after the regular payment, but at least it came through. Thanks everyone for your help and keeping me from completely panicking!
