DEO missing $300 federal benefit in latest payment - anyone else?

Just checked my account this morning and I'm totally confused. I've been getting my regular DEO unemployment benefits plus the $300 federal supplement like clockwork every two weeks. Today I got my payment, but it's ONLY the regular benefit amount with no federal money. Did anyone else have their federal benefit missing from their latest deposit? I checked CONNECT but there's no explanation or message about why it stopped. Tried calling the DEO but you know how that goes (busy signal for hours). I'm freaking out because I've budgeted for that extra $300. Is this happening to everyone or just me?

YES this happened to me too! No $300 extra on my payment yesterday and I'm panicking. Was counting on that money for my car insurance due next week. No warnings, no emails, nothing in my CONNECT inbox. Is the program over or something??

At least I'm not alone! Did you try to get through to anyone at DEO yet? I've been trying all morning with no luck.

The Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program that adds the $300 weekly benefit has specific end dates set by legislation. In 2025, the current supplemental program is scheduled to phase out on April 15th. Check your CONNECT portal for any notices under the 'Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary' section - there might be information there about why your payment changed. Also make sure you've completed all required work searches (5 per week in Florida) as missing those can affect all benefits.

April 15th???? But today is only March 2nd! Why would they just stop it with no warning? This whole system is broken!!! I've done EVERY SINGLE work search and documented it perfectly. They just love to screw people over the moment they can. I've had nothing but problems since my restaurant closed in January.

Did you get any notification beforehand or explanation afterward? I've been checking my CONNECT inbox obsessively and there's nothing.

This happened to everyone on my unemployment Facebook group too. From what we can figure out, there was a glitch in the DEO system that affected the federal portion of payments processed between 2/28-3/1. Some people who called (and actually got through) were told it will be added to the next payment cycle as a retroactive amount. Check if your payment status shows 'partial' instead of 'paid' in your CONNECT account - that's what most people are seeing. If you need to speak with someone, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a DEO agent quickly. I was dealing with a similar issue last month with missing payments and spent days trying to get through. Used their service and was talking to someone in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj

THANK YOU for this info! Mine does show 'partial' which I didn't even notice. That gives me some hope it might just be delayed. Might try that Claimyr thing because I'm going crazy trying to get through the normal way.

my cousin works for deo and he said its a computer problem their system got updated last weekend and messed up the federal part. they know about it and fixing it now but u might need to wait till next payment

That's a relief if true! But waiting two more weeks for that money is still going to hurt. Wish they'd communicate these things better.

I KNEW IT!!! Another DEO disaster!!! I don't understand how they can be so incompetent ALL THE TIME!!!! Every single update they do breaks something else. My kids need groceries NOW not in 2 weeks when they decide to fix their broken system. I've been on hold for FOUR HOURS today!!! And guess what happens when you finally get through? THEY HANG UP ON YOU!!! This is criminal!!!!!

I understand your frustration, but it's important to know that if this is truly a system glitch as others have reported, you will receive the $300 federal benefit retroactively. If you're experiencing severe financial hardship while waiting, you might want to contact your local CareerSource Florida office. They often have emergency assistance resources available for precisely these situations.

Had similar thing happen last year when they updated the CONNECT system. The money showed up a week later without me doing anything. DEO gonna DEO 🙄

That's reassuring. I'll check again in a few days and hope it resolves itself. The stress of wondering if I did something wrong was killing me.

UPDATE: Just got off the phone with a DEO agent (was able to get through using Claimyr). They confirmed it's a system-wide issue affecting the federal $300 payments and they're pushing out a fix. The agent told me all affected claimants should see the missing federal portion deposited separately within 3-5 business days. If you don't see it by next Friday, they recommend calling to check on your specific claim.
