DEO not transferring my Federal Pandemic Supplement to CONNECT account - anyone else having issues?
I've been claiming weeks regularly since losing my hospitality job in April, but I'm confused about my benefit payments. My regular DEO unemployment shows up on my Way2Go card, but I haven't received any of the extra federal money that's supposed to be added. When I log into CONNECT, there's nothing showing under 'payment history' for these supplemental payments. I've tried calling DEO but can't get through - just busy signals or automated disconnects after being on hold. Has anyone else had issues with the federal supplement not showing up? Are they paying it separately or is something wrong with my claim? My bills are piling up and I'm getting desperate.

The $600 federal supplement program ended in July 2023, so you wouldn't be receiving that anymore. Florida is currently only paying the regular state unemployment amount which maxes out at $375 weekly. There was talk about extending it at a lower amount ($400/week), but Congress hasn't approved anything yet. The DEO system only shows your state benefits in CONNECT.

•Oh no! I thought it was still active. My neighbor said she was getting extra money with her unemployment. Has there been any word on when they might vote on the extension? $375 a week isn't enough to cover my rent, let alone utilities and food.

•It's ridiculous how DEO never explains these changes clearly!!! I spent THREE DAYS trying to figure this out when my payments changed. The system is DELIBERATELY confusing and they make it IMPOSSIBLE to talk to anyone who knows what's happening!!

My sister works at a restaurant and she is getting an extra $300 right now, not $600. i think they changed it a few months ago? But she said not everyone qualifies for it anymore. check ur determination letter, maybe u dont qualify?

•That $300 supplement was a temporary program called FPUC Extension that ended December 2024. There's currently no active federal supplement program in Florida. Your sister might be confusing her deposits or potentially receiving back payments from weeks she claimed during the eligible period. The DEO system is notorious for delayed payments sometimes.

I was in the same boat 3 weeks ago - super confused about the missing supplement. Talked to my career source advisor and they confirmed the federal program ended. My landlord was NOT happy to hear that! ðŸ˜

•Thanks for sharing your experience. I need to update my budget ASAP. Did CareerSource offer any other assistance programs you could apply for?

If you need to speak with someone at DEO to confirm your benefits status or check if you qualify for any other assistance programs, try using Claimyr. It's a service that helps you get through to a DEO agent without spending hours on hold. I was able to get through in about 20 minutes after trying for days on my own. You can see how it works at claimyr.com or check their demo video https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. They basically navigate the phone system and call you back when they have an agent on the line.

•Thank you for the suggestion! I'll check that out. At this point I'd try anything to get answers about my benefits.

•Yes, it worked for me after I spent a week trying to get through on my own. The DEO phone system is completely overwhelmed. They connected me with an agent who helped resolve my issue with missing payments from weeks I had already claimed.

The situation is confusing because the news keeps talking about new relief packages, but nothing has been finalized yet. Keep claiming your weeks and make sure you're completing all 5 required work searches each week. You don't want to miss out on any benefits because you didn't meet the requirements. If they do pass something new, DEO will likely automatically add it to eligible claims, but there's always a delay with implementation.

•I've definitely been doing my work searches and documenting everything. Last week I applied to 7 places just to be safe. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if anything changes with the federal supplement.

I was on hold with DEO for FOUR HOURS yesterday trying to ask about this EXACT issue!!! When I finally got through, they told me there is NO federal supplement active right now. The system is SO BROKEN! They should make this CLEAR on the website instead of making thousands of desperate people waste hours trying to figure it out!!!

•Yes and that was my THIRD attempt this week! The first two times I got disconnected after 1+ hours of waiting. The entire system is DESIGNED to make people give up!!!

If you're struggling with just the state unemployment amount, make sure to check if you qualify for other assistance programs like SNAP (food stamps), rental assistance through OUR Florida, or utility payment help through LIHEAP. Your local CareerSource office can often point you toward these resources. The Florida DEO website also has a resource page, though it's not always easy to find.

•Thanks for this information. I'll definitely look into these programs. Do you know if applying for these other benefits affects unemployment eligibility at all? I don't want to mess up my current benefits.

•Applying for and receiving SNAP, rental assistance, or utility assistance won't affect your unemployment eligibility. These programs are designed to work together during financial hardship. The only thing that affects unemployment is earned income from work or failure to complete work search requirements.

I heard they might be passing a new relief bill next month but who knows if it'll happen. Politicians keep arguing while we're all struggling to pay bills. This whole situation is so stressful.

•I hope they pass something soon. It's impossible to live on just the state benefit in Florida with rent prices being so high.
