DEO didn't deposit February's benefits - anyone else's way2go card empty?

I was expecting my benefits to hit my Way2Go card today like usual, but nothing showed up. My claim status in CONNECT still says 'active' and all my weeks are marked as 'payable,' but no money has been deposited. Has this happened to anyone else this month? This is my third month on Florida unemployment and payments have always been consistent until now. I need this money for rent next week and I'm starting to panic. Already tried calling DEO but got disconnected after 45 minutes on hold.

Have you tried calling the Way2Go card customer service? Maybe it's an issue with the card system and not DEO?

There's often a 1-2 day processing delay when the payment date falls around bank holidays or month transitions. I've been on Florida unemployment three times in the past five years and February always seems to cause issues. Check your payment history in CONNECT - if it shows as 'processed' with today's date, it will likely hit your card by Thursday. The system usually updates at midnight, so check again in the morning.

Thanks, that's reassuring! My payment history does show 'processed' for today. I'll check again tomorrow morning.

My sister is having the same problem but my benefits came through fine yesterday. Definitely something weird happening with DEO this week.

I had this exact issue last month!!!! I freaked out for 3 days but then all the money just showed up randomly. The whole DEO system is GARBAGE and they never explain anything. Worst part is you can never get anyone on the phone to tell you what's happening with YOUR money. I spent 6 hours trying to get through last month when this happened.

That's infuriating but also kinda relieving to hear it might just show up. Did you do anything special to make the payment appear or it just randomly showed up?

It literally just appeared with ZERO explanation. Never even got to talk to anyone. The CONNECT system is probably programmed on Windows 95 🙄

If your CONNECT account shows the payment as processed but it's not on your Way2Go card, it's usually just a delay between systems. I've been getting benefits since November and there's always at least a 48-hour delay between when CONNECT shows payment and when my Way2Go card actually gets the money. Don't panic yet!

That's good to hear. I'll try to be patient. Just stressful when you're counting on that money for bills!

I had this problem a few weeks ago and wasted DAYS trying to get through to DEO with no luck. Busy signals, disconnects, the whole nightmare. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through to a DEO agent in about 45 minutes. They explained there was a 'system flag' on my account that was holding up payments even though everything looked normal on my end. Agent fixed it right away. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. Beats spending weeks trying to get through on your own.

I've never heard of Claimyr before. Does it actually work? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point if my payment doesn't show up by Thursday.

Yeah it worked for me. The DEO agent told me these payment delays happen often but they don't have enough staff to call everyone affected. Sometimes there's a simple fix they can do on their end, but without talking to someone you'd never know.

wait is everyone on here talking about regular unemployment or the new disaster assistance program?? i applied for the hurricane thing and haven't gotten anything yet

This thread is about regular Reemployment Assistance (RA) benefits, not Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA). DUA has a completely different payment schedule and system. You should start a separate thread for that question.

OMG THANK YOU! Just checked and mine appeared too! What a relief. I guess it was just delayed like others mentioned.

This happened to my roomate last year and she had to do a whole new identity verification thing with ID.me before they would release the money. Might want to check if you got any notices about that in your CONNECT inbox.

My payment actually just showed up (finally!), but thanks for the tip. Good to know for future reference if it happens again.

Glad your payment came through! Just FYI - for anyone else reading this - DEO often does system maintenance on the last day of the month which can cause 24-48 hour payment delays. I've learned to expect it and budget accordingly each month.
