DEO approved retroactive date change but no federal payments appearing - stuck on 'processed' status

So I've been fighting with DEO since February to get my effective date changed due to technical issues when I first filed. After 3 months of calling, I finally got my request approved last week and they added 6 retroactive weeks to my CONNECT account! I claimed all the weeks yesterday, and today they're showing as 'processed' - but I've noticed two big problems: 1) The payment amount is showing ONLY the state benefit ($275/week) with nothing from the federal supplement I should qualify for, and 2) There's no payment date or transaction number yet. Has anyone dealt with retroactive payment issues recently? Do federal payments come separately? I'm worried they're going to be 'processed' forever without actually hitting my account. Any insights appreciated!

same thing happnd to me in March. retroactive weeks showed up but only state $$ no fed. had to wait 12 days before it actually hit my account. the federal part showed up randomly like 2 weeks after that. no warning just appeared one day. DEO never answers calls to explain why

Thanks for sharing your experience! Did the status change from 'processed' to something else before the money showed up? Or did it just randomly appear in your account? I'm trying to figure out if I need to keep watching CONNECT or my bank account.

The system processes retroactive payments differently than regular biweekly claims. State and federal portions are calculated separately in these cases, which often causes a delay between them appearing in your account. When you received approval for the effective date change, did you get a determination letter with a specific monetary determination? That document should show exactly what you're eligible for including both state and federal benefits. If you haven't received it, I recommend checking your CONNECT inbox and the 'Determination Status' section under your claim summary.

I did get a determination letter! It shows I qualify for the full $275 state benefit plus federal supplement (the rate was different for different weeks depending on when I would've claimed). I'll check the determination status section - hadn't thought to look there for payment info.

You're right that current claims don't receive federal supplements, but retroactive claims can still receive them for eligible weeks that fell during the period when those programs were active. The federal supplement amounts varied depending on the time period - $600/week originally under FPUC, then $300/week during the later extension. The key is whether the retroactive weeks being claimed fell during those eligible periods.

I had exactly this situation in January. The retroactive payments hit my account in stages. First the state portion showed as processed but with no payment date for about 5 days. Then it switched to a payment date and hit my account 2 days later. The federal portion appeared in CONNECT about 10 days after that with its own separate payment. Two suggestions that might help: 1) Check if your payment method is set up correctly in CONNECT. Sometimes retroactive approvals reset this setting. 2) Check the "Weekly Benefit Details" page rather than just the payment summary - sometimes it shows more information about the status. If you're still seeing no movement after a week, you might want to try getting through to DEO directly. I had success using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to bypass the phone waiting game. They got me connected to an agent in about 20 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. They have a video demo of how it works here: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj

Thank you! I'll definitely check my payment method settings - I didn't realize the retroactive approval could reset that! I'm going to give it a few more days, but if I don't see any changes, I'll probably need to talk to someone. Those hold times are brutal though, so I might try that service if I can't get through normally.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO CONFUSE YOU AND DELAY PAYMENTS!!! I had retroactive payments stuck in "processed" for THREE WEEKS before they finally paid. Then they CONVENIENTLY "forgot" to include $2400 in federal supplements I was owed. Had to file an appeal and wait ANOTHER month. DON'T trust that they'll automatically fix it - document EVERYTHING and keep hounding them!!

forgot to mention - when my fed money finally showed up it didnt even say anything about federal supplement. it was just listed as "FPUC payment" with a weird claim ID number that didnt match my regular claim. maybe check if u have another claim number in the system?

That's really helpful info - I'll definitely look for anything labeled FPUC in my payment history. The whole system is so confusing with how they label things.

Just wanted to follow up on this since there seems to be some confusion about retroactive payments. For 2025 claims with effective date changes, here's what typically happens: 1. The state portion (RA benefits - up to $275/week) processes first 2. These will show as "processed" for 3-7 business days before payment info appears 3. Federal supplements (if your retroactive weeks fall in eligible periods) process separately 4. The federal portion may appear under a different claim ID or payment system 5. Bank holidays and weekends add 2-3 days to the normal processing time If your payments stay in "processed" status for more than 10 business days, that usually indicates an issue that requires agent intervention. At that point, calling DEO is your best option.

this is super helpful, thanks! Is there a way to tell which periods qualify for the federal supplement? I'm still confused about what I'm supposed to get.

Quick update for everyone who responded - my state payments moved from "processed" to having a payment date today! The issue was exactly what some of you mentioned - retroactive claims just take longer to move through the system. The agent I spoke with (finally got through after 2 hours on hold) said the federal supplements should appear in my account in about 7-10 business days as a separate payment batch. They said it's completely normal for them to be processed separately with retroactive approvals. Thanks everyone for your help!

Make SURE you screenshot everything and follow up if those federal payments don't show up!!! Don't let them get away with "forgetting" what they owe you!
