EDD keeps hanging up - How to actually check refund status?
Has anyone else had trouble getting through to EDD? I've been trying to check on my refund status but they keep hanging up on me. It's so frustrating! I've tried calling multiple times but no luck. Any advice on how to actually speak with someone there?

Ugh, I feel your pain! EDD's phone system is a nightmare. I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone š

ā¢Same here! I've tried calling at different times of the day, but it's always busy or I get disconnected. So annoying!

ā¢Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

ā¢Yeah, I've tried that too. No luck. It's like playing the lottery, but with worse odds lol

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/XbqD8mexcoQ

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

ā¢20 bucks? That's steep. But I guess if it works...

ā¢I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through to a real person. Worth every penny imho

ā¢Thanks for sharing! I might give this a try. Anything's better than wasting hours on hold.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: ā¢ Call early in the morning, right when they open ā¢ If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial ā¢ Use the phone menu options that are most likely to get you to a real person (usually claiming benefits or reporting fraud) ā¢ Be persistent and don't give up ā¢ Consider using a auto-dialer app to save your sanity Hope this helps someone! It's a frustrating process, but eventually you'll get through.

ā¢What auto-dialer app do you recommend? I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Pro tip: if you have a friend or family member who speaks another language, try calling the non-English line. Sometimes those have shorter wait times.

ā¢Wow, never thought of that! Clever hack š

ā¢Isn't that kinda unethical tho? What if you're taking the spot of someone who actually needs the language assistance?

I've heard rumors that EDD is understaffed and overwhelmed. Doesn't excuse the poor service, but might explain why it's so hard to get through.

ā¢That's no excuse. They need to hire more people or fix their system. We pay taxes for this service!
