EDD Call Dropped - How to Actually Reach a Human?

Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with EDD (Employment Development Department). I tried calling them earlier but the call dropped before I could get anything resolved. It's so frustrating! Has anyone else had this problem or know how to actually get through to a real person? I'm at my wits' end here.

I found a way to solve EDD phone call frustrations, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArUbuhthD7g

Ugh, welcome to the club. EDD's phone system is a nightmare. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone šŸ™„

Seriously! It's like they're playing hide and seek with our benefits. I've started to wonder if there are any real people working there at all šŸ¤”

I heard they're understaffed, but come on! This is peoples livelihoods were talking about. Get it together EDD!

Exactly! I get that they're swamped, but leaving us hanging like this is just cruel. We need answers!

I feel your pain, OP. Have you tried calling right when they open? I've had some luck getting through that way, but it's still hit or miss.

Thanks for the tip! What time do they open? I'll try anything at this point.

They open at 8 AM Pacific Time. Set your alarm and start dialing at 7:59! Good luck!

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with EDD for months now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: • Call early in the morning, like others have said. But don't just call once - keep redialing. • Use multiple phones if you can. More lines = better chances. • If you get through to the automated system, listen carefully. Sometimes there are hidden options that can get you to a real person faster. • Be prepared with all your info before you call. They'll ask for your SSN, claim ID, and other details. • If all else fails, try contacting your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is broken, but with enough determination, you can break through.

This is gold! šŸ’Æ Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I'm gonna try these tomorrow morning.

Wait, assembly members can help? How does that work?

Yep! They have staff dedicated to helping constituents with state agency issues. Google your local assembly member and give their office a call. They might be able to escalate your case.

Guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's kinda steep just to make a phone call...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to give it a shot. Totally worth it to finally get my issue resolved.

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

0 coins

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than wasting a whole day redialing!

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get basic help? The system is so broken 😤

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's like they're actively trying to make it hard for us to get the benefits we're entitled to.

Totally agree. We need to start making some noise about this. Maybe if enough of us complain to our representatives, something will change?

Has anyone tried using the online portal instead of calling? I've had some success submitting questions there, although it can take a few days to get a response.

pro tip: if u get thru to someone but they cant help, ask them to transfer u instead of hanging up and starting over. sometimes u can bypass the whole queue that way

This! šŸ‘† It's saved me so much time. Also, always ask for the agent's ID number in case you need to reference the call later.
