EDD call dropped after 3-hour wait - How to actually reach a human?
I've been trying to get through to EDD for hours and the call just dropped. This is so frustrating! Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on how to actually talk to a real person there?

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 I swear EDD's phone system is designed to make us give up. I've spent entire days just trying to get through.

•I heard they're understaffed, but come on! This is ridiculous. We need our money!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

•It's legit! They use some kind of AI to navigate the phone tree and detect when a human picks up. Then it calls you. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was losing my mind trying to get through on my own.

Pro tip: Try calling right when they open. I managed to get through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push your case through.

•I didn't even know that was an option! How do I find my assembly member?

•Just google '[your city] assembly member'. Their office should have a way to contact them about EDD issues.

This whole system is a joke. I've been trying to get my claim sorted for MONTHS. At this point, I'm considering just giving up 😞

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, like right when they open. 2. If you get the 'too many callers' message, hang up and immediately redial. 3. Once you're in the queue, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long it takes. 4. Have all your info ready - claim number, last employer details, etc. 5. Be polite but firm with the rep you get. It took me about 2 hours of redialing, but I finally got through and got my issue resolved. Good luck!
