EDD Phone Nightmare: Tips for Actually Reaching a Human?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with EDD and I need to talk to someone. Has anyone had any luck getting through to a real person? I've been trying for days and I'm getting really frustrated. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through to EDD for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to a human being. 🤬

•Same here! Its like they dont want us to get our benefits. So frustrating!

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

•Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's always busy or I get disconnected. 😩

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20? That's ridiculous. EDD should be accessible for free!

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

•Sure! Basically, you choose the EDD line you want to call, pay the fee, and then their system starts calling. When a real person picks up, they connect you. Saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Call early in the morning, right when they open. 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial. 3. Try different numbers - sometimes the UI claim line is less busy than the general line. 4. Be persistent - it might take 50+ calls, but eventually you'll get through. 5. Have all your info ready when you do get through. 6. Be polite to the rep - they're dealing with a lot too. Hope this helps someone! Good luck!

•Great advice! I'd add: use multiple phones if you can. Increases your chances of getting through.

Anyone else feel like the whole system is designed to make us give up? 🤔 It's like they're hoping we'll just stop trying to get our benefits.

•100% agree. It's a total clown show. 🤡

•Conspiracy theory: they're understaffed on purpose to save money on claims. 👀

Pro tip: if you have a complex issue, try contacting your local assembly member's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help escalate your case.

I'm in the same boat, been trying to reach EDD for 3 weeks now. Anyone know if they're planning to improve their phone system anytime soon?

Has anyone tried using the online portal instead of calling? I heard they've been pushing people to use that more.

•I tried, but my issue was too complicated for the online system. Ended up having to call anyway. 🙄

•The online portal is okay for simple stuff, but anything complex and youre back to square one trying to call
