EDD UI Online keeps crashing during certification - lost data multiple times!

Is anyone else having serious problems with UI Online certification today? I started certifying at 9AM and it's now almost 10:30AM because the system kept crashing and logging me out! I counted TWELVE times where I had to start over completely. I even tried the "save as draft" feature after every single question, but somehow when it crashed, it would still lose my information! I reported my part-time hours correctly and selected "yes" that I looked for work, then BOOM - logged out again. This is getting ridiculous! My bills are due this week and I'm worried my payment will be delayed because of these technical issues. Has this happened to anyone else recently? Is there a better time to certify when the system isn't so glitchy? I'm using Chrome on Windows if that matters.

Glad I'm not the only one! Did your payment end up processing normally once you finally got through?

Try certifying either very early in the morning (like 5-6 AM) or late at night after 10 PM. The EDD servers get overloaded on Sundays when everyone tries to certify at the same time. Also, use a different browser - Firefox seems to work better than Chrome with UI Online. Make sure you're not on public WiFi and clear your browser cache before starting. If you keep having problems, take screenshots of any error messages you get. You might need those if your payment gets delayed and you have to call in.

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely try Firefox next time and maybe set an alarm for 5:30AM. I just hope my payment isn't delayed because of this mess.

I've had this happen so many times! EDD REALLY needs to upgrade their system. It's like they're running everything on computers from 1995. I've found that using the UI Mobile app sometimes works better when the website is being glitchy. Also, don't use autofill - I've noticed that can cause problems with the forms too.

Sorry for the confusion! I meant the mobile website version - if you access UI Online from your phone browser, it uses a different version that sometimes works better when the desktop site is crashing. There isn't an actual app (which is ANOTHER thing EDD should really develop!

I was having the exact same problem this morning. After wasting an hour trying to certify, I used Claimyr to get through to a live person at EDD, and they were able to process my certification over the phone. Took about 15 minutes once I got connected. The service basically gets you past the phone tree and wait times. You can see how it works in this video: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km - their website is claimyr.com. Honestly, whenever the UI Online system is down, it's faster to just call in with something like this than wait for the website to start working again.

Thanks for the suggestion! If the site keeps crashing when I try to certify next time, I'll definitely check out that service. Sounds like a real time-saver.

According to EDD Twitter, they're doing system maintenance today from 8am-1pm. That's probably why everything is crashing. They NEVER give enough notice about these maintenance periods and it drives me CRAZY!!! I've been dealing with these issues for months. Maybe try certifying after 1pm?

I wish they'd put a banner on the login page about maintenance! Would have saved me so much frustration. Thanks for the info.

You're welcome! And the WORST part is they still expect us to certify on time even when THEIR system doesn't work!! So frustrating!

I've been on unemployment for 7 months now and I've learned that certification day is always a disaster. Here's what I recommend: 1. Always certify at odd hours (3am worked great for me) 2. Use Microsoft Edge browser specifically (not Chrome or Firefox) - for some reason it works best with EDD's outdated system 3. Take screenshots of EVERYTHING 4. If the system crashes during certification, wait at least 30 minutes before trying again 5. If all else fails, you can certify by phone with the automated system at 1-866-333-4606 Hope this helps! The system is incredibly frustrating but there are workarounds.

Thank you so much for these detailed tips! I didn't even know about the phone certification option - that's great to have as a backup. I'll try Edge browser next time too.

i alwasy certify on monday morning cause sunday is a nightmare lol

Just be careful with waiting until Monday - if you certify after midnight on Sunday, your payment processing can be delayed by a day or two. I learned this the hard way when I was counting on the money for rent!

Just an update for everyone - EDD just posted on their website that they're experiencing higher than normal traffic today, and they recommend certifying during non-peak hours. They're also suggesting using the phone certification system until they resolve the online issues. If anyone's payment gets delayed because of these technical problems, make sure to document everything and call them - they can sometimes expedite payments when the delay was caused by their system issues.

Thanks for the update! I finally got my certification to go through around noon. The system seems to be working better now, but I'll definitely follow everyone's advice about certifying during off-hours for next time.
