EDD certification glitch forcing me to restart the whole process - anyone else?
So frustrated with the EDD certification process right now! For the past two weeks, I've been trying to certify for my UI benefits and keep running into this weird glitch. I complete all the certification questions (work search, earnings, etc.), click submit, and then instead of getting the confirmation page, it boots me back to the beginning like I never started! Anyone else dealing with this? I've tried using both Chrome and Safari browsers, cleared my cache, even tried at different times of day thinking maybe the system is overloaded. Nothing works. My rent is due next week and I REALLY need this payment to process. Getting desperate here...

•Did you ever get it to work? I'm on day 5 of trying and still no luck.

This is a known issue with UI Online that happens during system maintenance or high traffic periods. Try certifying between 2-5am when traffic is lowest. Also, make sure you're answering the work search question correctly - if you select 'no' to looking for work without having a valid exemption, it will kick you back to the beginning without telling you why. Check that you're not timing out (session expires after 30 minutes of inactivity). If all else fails, you can also certify by phone using TeleCert at 1-866-333-4606.

•Thanks for the detailed response! I'll definitely try the early morning hours. I've been selecting 'yes' for work search and documenting my activities, so I don't think that's the issue. The weird thing is it lets me complete EVERYTHING and then bounces me back right at the final submission. So frustrating!

Have you tried using their mobile app instead of the website? Sometimes the app works when the main site is having issues. Also, take screenshots of your answers before you submit so if you have to start over, you can at least reference what you put before.

•THERE IS NO EDD MOBILE APP!!! This is dangerous misinformation. EDD has repeatedly warned about fake EDD apps that steal your information. Only use UI Online through the official website or the telephone system.

•You're absolutely right - I'm so sorry for the confusion! I was thinking of another state's system. Thank you for the correction!

I've had success using Claimyr to reach an EDD representative who fixed this exact issue for me. I was having the same certification loop problem for weeks and getting nowhere. The rep explained it was a technical glitch on my account that needed to be manually fixed on their end. Check out their video demo at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Their website is claimyr.com. It helped me connect with an actual agent who could fix the backend issues that were causing the loop.

•I hadn't heard of this service before. Were they able to fix it right away once you got through to someone? I've tried calling directly and just get the 'too many callers' message every time.

•Yes, once I got connected to a rep, they fixed it within minutes. They told me it was a common glitch where the system wasn't properly saving completed certifications from certain accounts. They had to reset something on their end. I was able to certify immediately after the call without any issues.

i find that if i use internet explorer (not chrome) and do it exactly at midnight when the new certification period opens it works better. also dont use wifi use a direct ethernet connection if u can. sometimes its just bad timing and EDD computers are garbage lol

•Internet Explorer has been discontinued by Microsoft and is no longer supported or secure. Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Chrome would be better options.

The certification loop issue is often caused by one of three things: 1. Browser compatibility issues - try using Microsoft Edge which seems most compatible with UI Online 2. Your JavaScript settings are disabled or something is blocking scripts 3. There's a flag on your account requiring manual review If it keeps happening, you should try the paper DE 4581 form and mail it in. You can download it from the EDD website. Yes, it's slower but at least it will process. Your other option is to call at exactly 8:01 AM when the lines open and use the prompts to reach the claims department.

•Thanks for these specific tips. I'll try Edge tomorrow morning. If that doesn't work, I might look into the paper form option - though I really need the money soon and mail would take forever. Really appreciate the help!

UPDATE: Finally got it to work! For anyone else having this issue, what worked for me was using Microsoft Edge (thanks for that tip!) AND doing it super early at 4am when the system wasn't busy. ALSO make sure you're not using any browser extensions or blockers. I turned everything off and it went through smoothly. Thanks everyone for your help!

I'm dealing with the exact same issue! Been stuck in this certification loop for almost a week now. It's so frustrating because you spend all that time filling everything out perfectly just to get kicked back to square one. I'm going to try the Microsoft Edge + early morning combo that worked for Khalil. Really hoping this gets resolved soon because like many of you, I can't afford to miss these payments. Thanks for sharing your experiences - at least now I know it's not just me going crazy!

•I feel your pain! The same thing happened to me last month. Another tip that helped me - make sure you're not using any password managers or autofill features when you're doing the certification. Sometimes those can interfere with the form submission. Also, if you have to restart multiple times, write down your answers on paper first so you can just copy them quickly if it kicks you out again. The Edge browser + early morning approach really does seem to be the most reliable workaround right now.

I've been having this exact same problem for the past three weeks! It's incredibly frustrating - I'll spend 20 minutes carefully filling out all the certification questions, double-checking everything, hit submit and then BOOM - right back to the beginning like nothing happened. I've tried different browsers, different times of day, clearing cache, disabling extensions, you name it. The worst part is there's no error message or explanation, it just silently dumps you back to start over. I'm definitely going to try the Microsoft Edge + 4am approach that worked for Khalil. This system is clearly broken and they need to fix it ASAP - people depend on these payments for basic necessities like rent and food!

•This is so relatable! I just joined this community because I'm having the exact same issue. Been trying for 4 days straight and getting nowhere. It's reassuring to know it's not just user error on my part. I'm definitely going to try the Edge browser trick early in the morning. Has anyone tried contacting their local assembly member's office? Sometimes they can help escalate EDD issues when the system is this broken. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences - it helps to know we're not alone in this mess!

I suggest using Firefox browser. I believe it is suggested somewhere within the EDD website.

I've been struggling with this same certification loop issue for over a week now! It's maddening - I'll complete everything perfectly, hit submit, and then get bounced right back to the start with no explanation. Reading through all these comments gives me hope though. I'm definitely going to try the Microsoft Edge browser at 4am approach that worked for Khalil, and also make sure all my browser extensions are disabled. The tip about writing down answers on paper first is brilliant too - I'm tired of re-entering the same information over and over. It's ridiculous that we have to jump through these hoops just to access benefits we're entitled to. Really grateful for this community sharing solutions!

•I'm new here but dealing with the exact same nightmare! Been stuck in this certification loop for 6 days now and it's driving me absolutely insane. Thank you so much for mentioning the paper backup idea - I hadn't thought of that but it's genius. I'm going to try the Edge + 4am method tonight and definitely write everything down first. It's so frustrating that we have to become tech detectives just to get our benefits processed. Really appreciate everyone sharing their workarounds - this community is a lifesaver when EDD's system is this broken!

I'm having this EXACT same issue! Been trying to certify for 3 weeks now and it's the most frustrating thing ever. I fill out everything correctly, get to the final submit button, click it, and then it just dumps me back to the beginning like I never even started. No error message, no explanation, nothing! I've tried Chrome, Safari, Firefox, cleared my cache multiple times, tried different times of day - absolutely nothing works. Based on all the suggestions here, I'm definitely going to try Microsoft Edge at 4am tomorrow morning with all extensions disabled. Really hoping that works because I'm behind on my car payment and desperately need this to go through. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences - at least now I know I'm not losing my mind and it's actually a system issue!
