EDD UI Online website not loading for certification - tried multiple browsers
So frustrated right now! I need to certify TODAY and the EDD UI Online website just refuses to load. Been trying for 3 hours straight. The page starts loading and then just freezes or times out completely. I've tried Chrome, Firefox, and even dusted off Internet Explorer (yeah, I'm desperate). Cleared my cache, cookies, everything. Nothing works! Anyone else having this issue right now? Is the system down? My rent is due next week and I NEED this certification to go through. Getting the dreaded "page cannot be displayed" message or an endless loading circle. Ugh! Any suggestions? Should I try to call EDD? We all know how that usually goes... 🙄

Same here! Been trying since 6am and can't get past the loading screen. System must be overloaded or something. Tried on my laptop and phone - no luck. Really stressing because this is my first certification and I don't want to mess anything up.

•The site tends to crash on Sundays when everyone tries to certify at once. Try really early morning (like 4-5am) or late night after midnight. That's when I've had the best luck getting through. If that doesn't work, you have a few days to certify before it becomes an issue.

•Thanks for the phone number! I'll try that if the website still won't work tomorrow. Did the phone certification take a long time? I've never done it that way before.

This is a common issue, especially during peak certification times. I had some success with these troubleshooting steps: 1. Try using incognito/private browsing mode 2. Disable any browser extensions/add-ons 3. Try a completely different device if possible (tablet, different computer) 4. Check that your internet connection is stable 5. Try during off-peak hours (very early morning or late night) The EDD system gets incredibly overwhelmed on weekends, especially Sunday. If you still can't get through by tomorrow, remember you have until Saturday of next week to certify before it potentially affects your payment. Don't panic yet!

•Thank you so much for these tips! I didn't think about incognito mode - will definitely try that. And good to know I have until next Saturday. That gives me some breathing room at least.

I had the same issue last month it was so annoying!!! My boyfriend told me to try using my phone DATA instead of wifi and it actually worked!! Weird but maybe try that

•That's actually a good troubleshooting step. Different network paths can avoid congestion points. Cellular data sometimes routes differently than home internet connections. Worth trying!

I gave up trying to access the website myself this morning after 45 minutes of trying. So annoying. My cousin had the same issue last certification period and she used Claimyr to get through to EDD on the phone instead. Said it was actually pretty easy. She showed me their demo video (https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km) and I might try it if the site is still down tomorrow. Their website is claimyr.com if you're interested.

•Yeah my cousin said it connected her to an agent in like 25 minutes instead of spending all day calling and getting nowhere. Worth it when you're desperate and need to talk to someone!

Ugh why does EDD make everything so difficult??? I'm a first-time claimant and everything about this process has been confusing and stressful. Can't sign in, can't certify, can't get help. The system is literally designed to make people give up I swear.

•I feel your pain! I've been on unemployment before and it never gets easier. The system is so outdated and crashes constantly. Hang in there though - once you get through this first certification, it does get a tiny bit easier to navigate.

Just a quick update for everyone - I just checked and the UI Online system appears to be working now (11:45pm). Might want to try again if you're still up. Sometimes these outages last just a few hours. Good luck!

•OMG THANK YOU!! Just tried it and got through! Successfully certified. What a relief. Going to set an alarm for late night next time to avoid the rush.

•Just did mine too! So much stress for nothing. But good to know for next time to avoid the daytime hours.

Technical explanation: EDD's UI Online system uses an older infrastructure that wasn't designed to handle the volume of claims we've seen since 2020. They've made some improvements, but the system still gets overwhelmed during peak certification periods (especially Sundays). If this happens in the future, remember: - You have a certification window, not just one day - Phone certification is a reliable backup option - Try very early morning or late night hours - The UI Mobile site sometimes works when the main site doesn't The good news is EDD is supposedly upgrading their systems by mid-2025, though I'll believe it when I see it!
