EDD UI Disqualification for No Reason - What to Do?
Has anyone else been disqualified from unemployment benefits for no reason? I just got a notice saying I'm disqualified but I don't understand why. I've been following all the rules and reporting my income correctly. This is so frustrating! I really need this money to pay my bills. Has this happened to anyone else? What should I do now?

•It's crazy how one small mistake can mess up the whole thing. Definitely worth checking.

•I second this. I've found important EDD messages hiding in my spam a couple of times.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling EDD. Be persistent. 2. Document everything. Write down when you call, who you talk to, what they say. 3. Check your online account for any messages or requests for additional info. 4. If you can't get through, try contacting your local state representative. They sometimes can help push things along. 5. Make sure all your certifications are up to date and accurate. 6. If you have any proof that you're eligible (pay stubs, termination letter, etc.), gather it all in one place. 7. Consider filing an appeal if you can't resolve it over the phone. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed but you have rights. Keep fighting for what you're owed.

I had a similar issue and eventually found out it was due to an error in their system regarding my previous employer’s information. They had incorrect data and it triggered a disqualification. You might want to verify all your details in their system to ensure they are correct.

•That's a good point! Errors in the system data can definitely cause issues.

•Always verify the details they're working with. Mistakes happen more often than we think.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, I was skeptical at first too. But I was desperate and it actually worked for me. Got through in like an hour.

•$20 just to talk to EDD? That's messed up. The system is so broken 😤

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Spent way more than $20 in time and frustration trying to call myself.

•I tried Claimyr too, it worked for me as well! But I understand $20 might not be feasible for everyone.

•Yeah I've been trying to call all day. Keep getting busy signals or disconnected. This is ridiculous!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59am. Sometimes works for me.

•That's so frustrating! I've heard that Googling their alternative phone numbers might work as well. Good luck!

Have you checked if theres any new requirements or changes to the UI system? Sometimes they update stuff and don't tell anyone 🙄

Ugh, I feel for you OP. The stress of dealing with EDD on top of being unemployed is just too much sometimes. Hang in there ❤️

I went thru this last month. Turns out it was a "system error" on their end. 🙄 Keep calling and don't give up! Once you get someone on the phone, they can usually fix it pretty quick.

•Thanks for the hope! How long did it take you to get through to someone?

•Honestly? Like 3 days of non-stop calling. It was hell. But worth it in the end.

•Glad it eventually worked out for you. The system seems to be unreliable for so many people.

The whole UI system needs a complete overhaul. It's not fit for purpose anymore. We should be writing to our representatives about this!

•We gotta try tho. Strength in numbers and all that. If we all complain maybe theyll finally do smthing

•Agreed! The more pressure we put on them, the more likely they are to act.
