EDD Disqualified Me After Questionnaire - Need Help ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I just got disqualified for unemployment benefits after filling out a questionnaire they sent me. I'm not sure why I was disqualified and I really need those benefits for the last two weeks. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what I should do or say when I call them?

Ugh, been there done that. The EDD system is such a mess 🤦♂️ When you call, make sure you have all your job separation docs ready. Ask them specifically why you were disqualified and what you can do to fix it. Good luck!

•Thanks for the advice! Do you think I should mention anything specific about the questionnaire?

•Definitely! Ask them which answers on the questionnaire led to the disqualification. Sometimes its just one wrong answer that can mess everything up.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to that awful hold music lol

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your documents related to your job separation 2. Write down the exact dates of your last employment 3. Have your questionnaire answers ready 4. When you call, be polite but firm 5. Ask for specific reasons for disqualification 6. Inquire about the appeal process 7. Take notes during the call 8. Get the name and ID of the rep you speak with 9. Follow up with an email summarizing the call Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

I'm in the same boat, been trying to get this sorted for WEEKS. It's like they're purposely making it difficult to claim benefits. Hang in there, OP!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling your local assemblymember's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push your case through.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they post more detailed info there about disqualification reasons.

Whatever you do, DON'T give up. I almost did and then finally got through and turns out it was all a big misunderstanding. Keep pushing!
