TWC denied my benefits for one pay period - permanent or temporary?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment benefits. They just denied me for a specific pay period, and I'm not sure if this is a permanent decision or what. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm trying to figure out if I should appeal or if there's something else I can do. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, that sucks. I've been there before. Usually, if it's just for one pay period, it's not permanent. Have you checked your account online to see if there's any explanation?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate after trying for days. It saved me hours of hold time.

•20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep...

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, ya know? 🤷♂️

Here's what you need to know about denied pay periods: 1. It's not always permanent. Sometimes it's due to a specific issue that week. 2. Common reasons include: - Reporting errors - Temporary increase in income - Missed work search requirements 3. Check your online account for any messages or alerts. 4. If there's no clear explanation, you should definitely appeal. 5. Keep certifying for benefits while you sort this out! 6. Document everything - dates, times, who you talked to. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Ugh, the unemployment system is such a joke. I swear they make it confusing on purpose so people just give up. Hang in there, OP!

•For real tho. It's like they're playing 4D chess and we're stuck with checkers 🙄

Hey, quick question - did you have any changes in your work situation during that pay period? Sometimes even a small shift can trigger a denial.

•Now that you mention it, I did pick up a small gig for like 2 days. I reported it, but maybe that's what caused it?

•Yep, that could definitely be it! Make sure you have all the details about that gig when you call them. Good luck!
